excellent restaurant with the best views over the Cheshire plains. Stayed here twice, I'd avoid the smaller rooms in the courtyard on the ground floor as they don't afford much privacy and very noisy between the rooms. The room above the bar facing the front is perfect though. A little extra but the space is much better and those stunning views. Staff are great and the breakfast is brilliant too.

The location is great for a walk on the sandstone trail. We ordered a sharing platter which was more than enough for two people and was very nice. The service was ok as they seemed slightly rushed in the afternoon.

This is a beautiful pub that is set within the hills and has a great view towards Liverpool on a good day. The food is very good and the staff are very attentive. The Sunday roast is a must. Looking forward to going again in the near future.

Absolutely wonderful place for a meal. We had the butchers board sharing platter with some sides - fantastic and not expensive.
