Went for afternoon tea. The setting was really nice, and we were served in the Oak Dining room, which is beautiful. Food was pretty good but service was poor. Some people were asked about their tea choices on arrival but we (& others) weren't. We'd eaten the sandwiches before managing to grab a passing waitress who we could then ask for tea. She seemed surprised when I told her other couples didn't have any tea too.

Stayed for a short romantic mini break and was incredibly impressed with the hotel and grounds. Well located for a country getaway but not too far from local amenities in Nantwich. All staff were polite and service was good. Room was large and well appointed - there was even a TV above the bath! Visited the spa which had a large hydrotherapy pool and plenty of space to relax. Would recommend!

Just got back from an interesting weekend. This is a beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. The rooms and food are fabulous. However the service is not good enough and does not match everything else including price. We waited over ten minutes to see someone at check in, no apology. An hour before our starter arrived last night and at £54 a head this and the casual way we were spoken to is not a fine dining experience! We mentioned this plus other examples of poor service during our stay and at check out. Disappointing pearl wedding anniversary first time on our own away due to disabled son for 26years. This was not cheap but felt like a trip to a local cafe for service sorry.

We only visited the restaurant for Sunday lunch with our baby boy and another couple who also had a baby. The high chairs were disgusting. They clearly hadn't been cleaned for some time and ours still had a piece of pizza from the last customer. The roast itself was average to say the very least. The food itself was average quality but was well presented in tiny portions. We won't be going back

Our stay at the Rookery Hall Hotel was excellent! The staff were very attentive and accommodating in both the hotel itself and the spa. The room was more than generous with plenty of facilities. We had free use of a valuables safe, TV, DVD player with a library of films and even board games to borrow if that is your thing. The bed was plenty comfortable and the bath practically big enough to swim laps in. While we were there we attended a private function that was excellently catered. The food well cooked and the portion sizes surprisingly ample. The staff looked after us very well both in the evening at breakfast the next day. A1 Highly recommended
