Been here quite a few times now. The food has always been great, good sized portions at very reasonable prices. The staff are very polite and helpful. Very nice place, good value for money and a good atmosphere. Definitely worth a try!

Recently my husband & I decided on a meal out to celebrate my birthday and, never having visited the Holystone before, thought it looked really nice and cosy since the renovations and off we went.

Once inside it looked and felt as cosy as we'd hoped. We ordered our drinks - big disappointment as my rum & coke was awful - as flat as a haddock! Hubby enjoyed his beer. My drink put aside and ordered wine instead.

35 minutes wait for our meal wasn't TOO bad, I thought, especially as it was all cooked to order. Unfortunately when the meals arrived mine was like charcoal...  black! The staff were very apologetic and a new steak was promised. 

40 minutes later my new steak arrived, not quite as black as the first but well overdone but I was hungry and hubby had long since finished his meal.. I decided to eat it anyway. 

Despite the lovely atmosphere, and helpful staff I don't think we will be going back again as the food was mediocre.

Went for mother's day. Had a lovely meal in a relaxed atmosphere with some live music.
