Based in the heart of Parkstone, The Ox Hotel offers 13 stunning boutique bedrooms for ultimate comfort during your visit to the south coast of England. These rooms need to stop taking bookings, do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. Arrived too late to find an alternative and had a room that was both dirty and tatty. Not cleaned properly or at all in some areas? after previous guest. Half used bottles in shower, used bath mat hanging and bathroom bin full. Bed was collapsing and curtains filthy and hanging off in areas. Window couldn’t be opened either.nnNo senior staff to be found and staff that were spoken to seemed to be aware of the problems. Tried to email after stay but was ignored.nnCouldn’t bring myself to eat there having seen to state of the rooms.
Good food. Terrible service.nTwo course and two rounds of drinks from 6:15-9:15pm. Table half cleared, drinks forgotten from rounds and then presented with the wrong bill. Others on another table conveyed their disappointment too, as we queued to ask for our bills, as the staff couldn’t be bother to maintain eye contact. Good food and good company, but I’m afraid we won’t be back and we won’t be recommending you to our friend and family or guests.
Hired out the function room around the back for my 25th bday, which can hold up to 80 people. It’s away from everyone else. Really nice inside and you can play your own music on the sound system. Lovely outside area and amazing service. We had our own bar, with a staff member called Chris, who done amazingly to look after 50+ people. He was quick and efficient, friendly and a good worker. Would definitely recommend hiring this venue out for events.
My first visit to this Thai Restaurant. The main course food is excellent, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming but the evening was totally let down by the Waiter paying much more attention to his 'friends' at the Bar. The people at the table next to me agreed as I got up to walk to the Till to pay. I didn't have a dessert as my table wasn't cleared and I gave up waiting. Not my usual experience of Thai hospitality.
Booked for two for an evening meal. The service was excellent and the food was incredible! Definitely recommend, looking forward to going back.
