Had a lovely meal here, food was very good value and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Went here to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday but it was very disappointing. One of our party ordered the Sunday roast but the beef was so overdone that he could not even cut into it and start his meal. It looked as though it was left over from the week before. He asked for sausage and mash instead, which the staff readily ordered - but the sausages were so anaemic looking, that he could not even finish the first one. The lasagne and gammon were okay but not particularly tasty. When the coffee arrived, the mugs smelt slightly grubby. The pub felt cold, there was no hot water in the washbasin taps and the toilet area looked uncared for. The staff were all lovely but the pub looked shabby and past its best. Unfortunately, two of the family had stayed overnight and again were very disappointed. The room was clean but there was no hot water, the shower was broken, no heat in bedroom, the tv only had one channel and could only be switched on and off at the wall, not by the remote even after being given new batteries for the remote. Such a shame as this used to be a great pub.
I was looking for a 1 night stay in Poole, and this came up as the cheapest in the area.nnPrior to arrival, I received an email with a link to fill in my details, to speed up the check-in.nnUpon arrival, found plenty of spaces in the car park, and free parking is a bonus.nnStaff were very friendly and helpful at check-in.nnThe room was clean and had everything I needed. It was also quiet, which meant I had a good night's sleep.nnI was emailed a link as well to check out, so was very easy.....selected a check out time on the link, and left the keys in a box on the way out.nnLocation is very good. Bus stop outside goes into Poole centre one way, or Bournemouth the other.nnWould definitely stay here again.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming. We love the variety of food. The atmosphere is cool, bar seating for a more chill meal and drink and catch up and restaurant bit for going out with family or more formal occasions/parties. We often visit and it never disappoints.
Quite quiet so plenty of seating , staff friendly. Amazing food choices and quick service and the portions were large, definitely left full. I had the mix grill other half had the cowboy burger , both delicious. Too full to finish my lovey apple crumble.
