Story

Inspired by Sidney Jenkins who built his butchers and fishmongers in the 1920's. A respect for artisan pride and great food and drink. The finest fish and meat cooked over real coals and served with the best British craft beers we can find.

We’re open all day, every day from 9am until it’s late, and dark and we need to sleep, and no later than midnight. You can visit us just for a coffee, or a beer, or a slice of cake or a 3 course meal, basically, whatever you fancy, whenever you fancy.

Honestly amazing steak house with amazing concept, where they served classic with perfection but they also served amazing infusions. My steak it was perfectly cook. A restaurant that you feel love in the kitchen, love in what they are doing, you can taste it. I definitely recommend, thanks guys, I will be back!

Lovely friendly staff but..... the food does not live up to the hefty price tag.  I was expecting something really good for £16.50 for a beef and ale pie.  The beef was tough, it lacked flavour and was very dry.  My wife questioned whether the mashed potato was instant as it was grainy and insipid.  My wife asked for some extra broth for her halibut as her meal was also dry.  Extremely surprised to be asked to pay an extra £2.00 for this when the dish was £18.50 in the first place!  We did complain to the manager who was very pleasant but did nothing to appease - despite the poor food and our complaint, we still had to pay an extra £2.00 for broth which is galling when the meal was so dry in the first place.  Will definitely re-visit for a drink but won't be eating here again.  Shame as we are regular visitors.

Cracking bar! Different new local ales on tap every week along with a range of your normal pub beers - accompanied with great bar snacks.
Food is absolutely impeccable and will not disappoint!

Lovely cosy atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff who were happy to help in making me a lovely vegan meal. Delicious food. Really enjoyed our evening.

Sadly disappointing. Birthday meal for six. 7.50 for camembert which we expected with wedges to dip. We're then told it's only 3 wedges. It was two minute deep fried wedges. Not ideal for sharing. Steak £26 was really chewy and seemed like a tough cut. Sea bass full of bones. The latter were deducted from the bill but it made for a very disappointing evening unfortunately, with the food the topic of negative conversation. A shame as we love Urban Reef.
