Popped in for a drink and an evening meal. Very friendly and welcoming with a good choice. Lovely garden area for children and dog friendly. Nice base to walk into the village to burn off the pint. Car park with plenty of spaces.
Absolutely brilliant owners, so friendly Food is a amazing and the area for walks is lovely Highly recommend this pub and we will return without fail Thank you
Popped in here for lunch. Great staff really friendly, the landlord is a real character with a great sense of humour. Food was served up promptly and was first class plenty of room in the gardens with ample outdoor seating. The landlord even brought out doggy ice creams for our dogs. Lovely experience, will definitely return again.
Popped in for a pint on a hot summer's day.Very friendly.Enjoyed the drink in their large pub garden Will return to try out the menu
Lovely village pub with great garden and newly refurbished decor. The landlord and staff were all very friendly, welcoming and attentive - the food was tasty, freshly cooked and good prices. Couldn’t ask for more - will be back again. Thank you for a great evening.
Edited this review from previous years of going to this place while on holiday..as due to new ownership and it deserved a fresh review! Popped in here midweek for a starting point to walk the dogs down the river like previous years and to enquire about food later in the week, We was greeted by the new owners within the carpark even though they was closed they was very polite and helpful, explaining the situation with opening times and there new ownership status... we arranged a booking for 9people for food later in the week. When returning for food we was again greeted by polite friendly faces and was seated at a table plenty big enough for the group of 9! After a little while the food all came out at once and was very generous servings, it was very well presented and tasted just as nice! The price of the food was well worth it. I recommend this place for food, drink and a place to meet friendly faces and staff or as a half way point for a nice afternoon stop off while walking the dogs down the river from Otterton village following the footpaths, Plenty of water for the dogs outside and dog friendly inside. Lovely little village pub very clean and fresh decor with friendly staff. Planning on coming here again for food next time we are Devon way! From Scott and Donna
This place is possibly the worst place I’ve ever eaten food in or not as the case may be. The cook can not take criticism she is clearly not a chef, and barely struggles to cook basic to low standards food, as for agreeing to pay the two meals out of four and the drinks, the staff became very hostile and aggressive toward the 2 pregnant females in my group when we left. The inside of this property looks like a back street Beirut hostel with clearly ikea tacky tables and chairs.
Disgusting place, the food was awful made a complaint and end up being physically and verbally abused by cook and other members of staff, the pub has slated us on Facebook saying we were aggressive and refused to pay, but we did pay for the drinks and 2 out of 4 main meals two of us are pregnant and the staff were very abusive and aggressive will never go back there, the inside of the pub looks like a village hall and if you complain you get abuse off the cook and another female member of staff. Now try blocking this because you don’t want everyone to know the TRUTH of the incident
A really clean and friendly place which caters for all. A varied menu for all tastes. I have never been disapointed when i have called in and will be visiting again very soon.
We've been in South Devon 3 days and this was the best meal so far. I had the gammon and my wife had the scampi - both very good. For dessert we had the cheesecake and the ice cream.
