A lovely cosy pub. Great food and drinks selection. We had a nibble but the fries we had were delicious! Staff are very welcoming and friendly too. Also the little cave in the corner is a really cool feature in this pub!
The Ostrich is a beautiful pub right on the Riverside in the outskirts of Bristol town centre. The views it had were lovely and the prices reflected the location that it has. It's an odd concept though as the pub seems to have been taken over by the brewery without them actually doing anything except setting up temporary stalls. All food is ordered via QR code and delivered from a temporary kitchen located outside. I ordered a drink before I sat down at a festival-like food truck that sold the beers whilst the pub inside served all other drinks but again via QR code. The whole experience seemed a little impersonal and felt like the brewery may have taken advantage of the place during COVID and they've yet to revert back. The food itself was medium to expensive Burger and Chips ~ £19 and was ok. I say ok because it was nice but didn't blow my mind away, for the price you pay you'd be better visiting a Five Guys or Three Brothers further into town, if the burger was your priority.
Nearby the canal, this place offers good food, good drinks, a good ambiance, and good views. A plus is when you can order on the app, take discounts on your bill, and wait at your table for the food and drinks. I will come back every time my friends visit me because it's a place to fully enjoy Bristol.
Beautiful fish cakes, complimented with mango curry and a perfect poached egg. Sat by an 18th century cave opening, as you do. Great pub. Will be back in Summer for outdoor bbq!
Cozy place with amazing French fries, garlic bread and drinks! Should definitely stop her for a glass of cider.
Nice waterside location in a quaint old building. Beautifully refurbished in a contemporary chic style with clever nautical touches. Add to this the very friendly welcome and expert guidance through the interesting menu and it all makes for a very enjoyable experience. We had a great time. We went upstairs and it is important to understand that the menu is different from downstairs where the emphasis is on more traditional pub fayre. The prices upstairs reflect this but the service is also more attentive. The manager is a great host who creates a warm, personal atmosphere as though you are invited guests in his own personal dining room. In good weather, particularly in summer, the outdoor seating area is very pleasant situated on the edge of the quayside overlooking the water of the harbour.
Good food, nice and cozy atmosphere, and friendly staff. We went here for a Christmas meal with friends and had a lovely time. We normally drop by in the summertime as they have a great outdoor area with lots of seating and a separate outdoor bar, but it does tend to get crowded quickly on sunny days.
Absolutely terrible. Reserved a table for dinner for 6 people. Was shown to our table, given the menu and then a while later the waitress tells us we can't order anything from the menu that was handed to us. Instead only the outside menu is available - most of the items were out of stock! Why did they not inform us in advance before our reservation? Shocking. Terrible selection of drinks. Not kid friendly - no baby changing facility nor step free access.
Came for a Sunday roast. Easy to book a table and table was ready when we arrived. Good, relaxed service and great roast dinner - portion size very generous ! Couldn't fault and will definitely return and recommend.
Visited for lunch , menu was small but food was nice, staff were welcoming
