A lovely friendly place. I arrived exhausted, and the staff were very helpful with getting some very heavy luggage from the car. The room was a little small but well equipped and clean. Hot breakfast was cooked to order, not a buffet, which was excellent. The food in the restaurant was good. Not elaborate, but good quality and very tasty.

Large, luxurious room, four-poster bed, huge shower. The decorating is broadly in keeping with the age of the building, which - for me, at least - only helped the feel. Less sure about the range of silver ornaments (statues?) in the bar. We also had lunch - just sandwiches, which were good, but the chips were excellent. Breakfast was also great (the black pudding with the full English was amazing). Best thing, however was the staff. Very friendly and very helpful.

Our stay here on the 9th of December was very lovely. We were a lively bunch of 11 Amateur Thespians, performing at Martin's Food and Dickensian Festival. Our rooms were warm, comfortable, large and slightly quirky in the best of ways! We dined in a separate Dining Room,the food and service were wonderful. We will be back! 🎭

Such a special place . From the second you step in the door you are made to feel special . The staff are all so helpful , without exception . The food is good quality, well cooked and beautifully presented at a very reasonable price . The bed is probably the comfiest I’ve slept in . The whole building is full of character and feels so warm and welcoming and the bedrooms are just something else . Can not recommend this place highly enough . Thank you to all staff and keep up the fantastic work . Hope to return again very soon
