Carpet was dirty !nShower grout was really bad !nNo toilet brush to clean toilet after use should you need to !nNo dressing table to sit at and dry hair apply makeupnMirrors all screwed to walls so couldn’t sit down and get ready comfortablynBreakfast was good nGlad it was for only one night as couldn’t stay there for longernSpeaking to shop owners in town who said it’s called Faulty towersnI can believe it !
Having stayed here before, we thought this was a safe bet to stay at again.nThe room had a musty smell, and there were signs of water intrusion in the past. The bed was too soft and fairly uncomfortable.nWe returned one evening to find our door hadn't been fully closed following the daily clean. Thankfully, nothing had been taken!nnThe positives are that the building looks lovely and the grounds are well kept, there's ample parking. The room was a good size, and the bathroom too. Although the shower screen on the bath didn't seem to do its job, there was a pool of water on the bathroom floor after each shower. Sorry, I slipped a negative in there... maybe it was all that water on the floor nnOur experience this time around may have made us decide not to stay here in the future tbh! We visit friends in Malton annually.
Absolutely gorgeous hotel with wonderfully lovely staff and a relaxing elegant atmosphere. Thank you so much to the team here for helping me make this weekend extra memorable for my proposal to my partner!!
Not as good as it should be.nI'm posting this on behalf of a relative who stayednnOn arrival about 1pm, he was told there was nothing available for lunch. Surely they could have put a sandwich together for him.nWhen he tried to book dinner, he was told there were no tables. No offer of a meal in the bar or in his room.nnWhen we visited him for a drink. My pint was poorly pulled, there was no ice and lemon for the Gin and there was a distorted radio blaring pop music in the bar.nNot what I would expect of this hotel.
Beautiful hotel set in stunning grounds. The room was spacious, spotless, and a hugh bathroom with full bath. The staff were brilliant...especially Grace who made us very welcome. Didn't get to eat because the restaurant was sold out for dinner....Walking distance to Malton &Old Malton..Lots of things to see and do...Cant recommend it enough..Will be back
