A traditional pub and dining room in the heart of Cambridge city centre
You will find The Mitre in Cambridge within a short stroll of Trinity Street, Sidney Street and Round Church Street - however you won't find another like it.
Step in to discover a traditional pub of unique character, revered for its eclectic range of real ales and its quality pub food, which are served, as they should be, with a generous measure of famous British hospitality.
The Mitre, a pub of long and venerable history, stands on the site of two former inns ? the Blackmoor's Head and The Cock and Magpie. The first inn took its name from Robert Blackmoor, a medieval chantry priest. The coming of the railway took away much of the river trade upon which both inns depended to the point where by 1874 the Cock & Magpie was the only remaining pub.
The Mitre is one of many rare gems in the Nicholson's collection of great British pubs, reputed for their distinctive buildings, intriguing history and vibrant atmosphere.
