The Millstone has had a refurbishment and is now a Co Op. The store is newly opened and was as you would expect clean and tidy. Just dropped in while passing, the building had fallen into disrepair and its good to see it in use again. Had a fresh bread section and numerous fridges and freezers. Has a free ATM inside. A little dearer in price than some stores but its what Tickhill was missing.
Excellent friendly staff. Could not be more welcoming of humans and their furry family. Steak night is a winner!
Food always consistently good quality and great value. Young waitress very pleasant and efficient. This is why we are regular. However - very annoyed and disappointed when Bank of Ulster £20 sterling note was refused at the bar. Bar person checked with manager who did not speak to me face to face. Fortunately I had a debit card with me to pay for the food. This has spoilt what is normally a very pleasant experience. Michael Leonard
Attended on a friday evening 6pm. Party of 3. Ordered carvery. Very poor. Food cold, gravy congealed and very little of it. Decor in need of revamp. the only nice thing about the whole experience was a very helpful waitress. Will not be going back again which is dispionting as we have had reasonable food there in the past.
I would like to pass on my thanks to the Management and Staff of the Millstone . I attend a well attended Yoga Group held in the upstairs function room on a Wednesday morning and following this, stay for lunch. The carvery is excellent both in cost and quality and the bar and eating areas are welcoming and well maintained. A lovely place!
Home brewed food, plenty of selection on the menu and the specials board. If you like a good pie there is a good variety of "flavours" to choose from. Helpful, pleasant, staff. Going to re-visit to try the carvery.
The food was amazing, it was freshly cooked and the portion size was fantastic. Great value for money, with helpful staff and a great selection of food and drink. I would definitely recommend it if you are interested in having a good night out.
In response to the owner. I waited patiently to be seated and then was rudely spoken to when I spoke up and said I was next to be served. So yes 1 star, not because your busy but because your service was poor. No apology offered either so please tell me why you deserve anything other than 1 star. Left before we got seated. The lady seating customers was rude to me she did look stressed we won't be returning. Shame, been regularly but not anymore.
The beef was good ,but cold the veg was shocking the carrots were a dirty grey color .couldn't get the stuffing out of the tray ,and the chef that served us had the blackest tea towel tucked in his apron and he wasn't much cleaner .used to be a really nice place to eat never again for us I'm afraid
booked sunday at 4.30 under the name shelly so not a false review as you stated. Service was slow and had no communication they just they all wander round like they dont know what they are doing we had been seated for a while had to be asked to be served when we was served the food was sub standard cold mash tasted bland swapped my girlfriends carvery for a turkey sandwich which come on a warm hot dog roll when we got up to pay was mentioned and refused to pay for my girlfriends meal the older woman on the staff said they had an agency chef in as main chef had left will not be returning and no need for the attitude in your reply not good customer service
