Called for a meal after a busy shopping trip, so we were quite hungry. Sadly the meals are a bit small. Quality isn't bad, but you go away still hungry. We came home and had a bacon sandwich! Prices aren't bad, but we won't be going back anytime soon.
Needed a quick lunch break and this perfectly located pub had some great food offers on. I was served by Mel and Dave who were very friendly staff and the food itself was great. 10/10 would recommend coming to this clean, polite and welcoming establishment.
Really enjoyed our visit to the Maple Tree today. The new management have really turned it around. Great food, friendly service and a good atmosphere. Great to see our local getting back to its best.
I went for a drink with my son, the atmosphere was pretty good, my son bought a sliced sailor merry and coke and couldn't believe it was £5.60. I had a pint of Moretti at £5.20 which tasted disgusting! I took it straight back to the bar and the bar staff replaced it with another without question. This 2nd pint was just as bad as the first, so I have up at that point. Really disappointing. It was a lovely pub before it changed to a Generous George.
Had a lovely afternoon, played pool and enjoyed a nice meal. Cant wait to come back! Staff were very welcoming and recommended a kids party for us too!
Lovely. Intro to new team. Great that I was able to taste the wine before buying. Atmosphere much improved. Fun evening. x
Pub was almost empty yet we waited over an hour for our food. Kept being told it was being plated up. Eventually we were told the chef was doing the easy tickets first.
The Maple Tree has been on a downward spiral for a while so I'd been giving it a wide berth but decided to call in on the off chance of improvement, sad to say I feel its about reached rock bottom. The food is terrible, low quality frozen products that they still manage to get wrong or over cook, portion sizes are very small, drinks are very over priced for a "local" pub too. This is a family estate, but this is no longer a family pub the atmosphere is non existent due to most locals like myself rarely bothering anymore. They need to bring back Quiz nights to get people back through the door. Staff seem clueless and over stretched. I hope my comments are taken on board and some positive changes take place ahead of the festive period
