Plenty of room within the pub, good mix of ages and lots of people eating. Why not such good value. Since I was last in a Weather Spoons they have extended the range of ale's full marks to Weather Spoons. Great magazine and handy guide available on the ale's and beers in or due in ....looking forward to returning
A lovely pub with more modern feel than your usual spoons. The pub was very clean and tidy and has a large beer garden out the back with seating down the alley beside the pub. The usual seating is available but I would argue that it is probably a bit more luxurious in here. The Guinness was excellent as was the Doom Bar and the Brains St David's Ale.
The place and beer prices are lovely but it takes forever to get served. The pub wasn't even full and only about 4 people at the bar, yet there were 3 people serving! No eye contact, no "I'll be a minute, faces like Thunder! and a attitude like" What you want to buy beer! " You seem to have a captive crowd and you know it! So you are thinking... " F***You!" The beers cheap though....
Very surprised and well pleased with the hotel room. Spotlessly clean, modern, lovely big shower, super comfy bed. Tea/coffee/bottles water and biscuits in room. Warm, friendly check in. I really like Wetherspoons as a pub/eatery but this is the first time I've stayed in one of their hotel rooms, it won't be the last.
Great Rooms at a great price. Jonathon the night man at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. If you are ever stuck in Doncaster getting the train to London in the morning this is the perfect overnight stop to stay. Rooms are spacious, clean and have a massive tv all modern. Happy to recommend
Reasonable service with above average staff that are willing to go the the extra mile for the customer. We managed to get a booth which is rare and the staff were fantastic to us for our first order with food Jay was especially helpful explaining what menu items were altered or unavailable, he also helped us alter our choices to best fit our needs on a busy friday evening.
Great selection of well kept cask beers. Low prices. Plenty of tables and seating. An excellent place to meet up with friends. Will call again. Beer prices shown on photos are March 2023. Walkability: In the centre of Doncaster, near the market. A few minutes walk from both bus and train stations.
Absolutely brilliant stay. Amazing staff and beautiful brunei. Room was much bigger than a standard hotel. Room and bathroom was clearly well looked after and amazing shower. Would definitely stay again.
We all opted for the Ciabata's with chips as an extra. Very disappointed to see that it was barely toasted and the cheese was barely starting to melt... The chips whilst luke warm were crispy and tasty. The venue wasn't busy so can't understand why...
Actually the Red Lion JD WETHERSPOONS was an excellent place to enjoy a relaxing breakfast. I was invited reluctantly by my brother over for a quick brekkie. Before now, I would NEVER have gone into that pub not because of the excellent hygiene standards or very good facilities, including polite staff. It's because I actually HATE that right-wing leaning - Brexit UK economy destroying - owner/founder Timothy R. Martin with a passion and all what he stands for! So OK apart from the above I will not hold the same feelings against his staff as they are completely different in character and style. A surprisingly pleasant experience!..
