Receptionists will ignore the phone ringing & laugh about it to others. You will never be able to book an appointment without having it cancelled the moment you show up or if you're lucky you'll get a call beforehand I've seen nurses go to the desk to ask for more equipment as they've lost theirs & any samples taken are somehow contaminated by the time its given to the desk. My report had noted down that I'm a smoker when I've never smoked in my life & had to keep complaining before they took that down. One time I arrived for a blood test & they had no record of me in their register when I had already been a member for a few months. Go here if you want your records wiped, medical samples/medicine contaminated under the 'caring' nurses & doctors who loose their equipment and receptionists who won't book you an appointment that you can make!
Following the merger of the Wharf Family Practice with The Medical Centre, the experience for the Wharf patients has been shambolic. Given that the first appointment we tried after the merger, it took 3 phone calls, 30 minutes of listening to recorded messaging due to the reception desk being busy and short staffed on the day. On the day of the 9am appointment it was by coincidence at 8.50am that we had to call the surgery, that’s when we were first informed that our appointment was cancelled, due to the doctor not available and there was no substitute doctor arranged. The NHS GP Medical Practices that have less that 3 star reviews should be investigated by GMC to see how wisely is funding spent, given that doctors are always complaining that they are under budget and overstretched. If the NHS want to save money and use the merging of practices model, then the NHS Leadership should seriously consider undertaking a detailed due diligence exercise, before good practices are merged into conglomerate practices. As this is ruining the experience of smaller practices services that were being delivered to customers before. To conclude, from a concerning patient the NHS should reinstate the Wharf Family Practice as a separate entity, so we can get the required duty of care that the NHS promises to deliver.
DISGUSTING service. For the last couple of months you ask for a doctor and they give you the same excuse that we have merged so too much patients and no doctor available. I’m just wondering when their merging will stop? Full of nurses and pharmacists because the doctors are too busy working private trying to make big money. They can’t even update their opening times and the receptionists want to know what your problem is before they decide if a doctor is needed. So now you have receptionists deciding if your I’ll enough or not? Can we say your fate is decided by Poorly trained individuals taking a qualified experienced doctors role and that over the phone as well? They might aswell turn it into a circus!
Don’t want to even give it one star ......... Ringing and ring no one ever picks up !! When they do there rude. DISGUSTING SERVICE BEEN TRYING FOR TWO WEEKS TO GET IN ABOUT MY THYROID TABLETS AND YET AGAIN THERE FULLY booked! Ring back at 8am tomorrow is all I get when I try no one answers and when I do get thur sorry all appointments are no gone call back tomorrow. 3 days without my thyroid tablets is not good and still they can’t get me in. And it’s a NO TO do a repeat perscription over the Fone. Terrible doctors wish WHARF FAMILY PRACTICE WAS STILL MY DOCTORS. They won’t even give my blood results over the Fone about my thyroid I had done 4 weeks ago... you all need to go back to training and have people skills training NOT HAPPY. I’m out of catchment areas for other doctors
Absolutely terrible practice.. the waiting times for an appointment is disgusting.. everytime we go it’s always empty but still waiting for 45 mins or more.. the receptionist request we get their earlier than our appointment but we still do not get seen.. the doctors just wish to sit on the ars*s and get paid.. my father was ill and we wished for a doctor to come out to see him as he couldn’t walk.. the receptionist told me a doctor is not available to come out as how busy the practice is however my father can get an appointment the same day considering it’s an ‘emergency’ i then had to take my dad out of him comfort zone to go to the practice it was absolutely empty... when it was finally our time for my fathers appointment, I played reverse psychology.. I asked the doctor ‘if they had been busy today’ his reply was ‘not at all today’ ... the recpionists are so rude and favour other patients more, other patients are allowed to skip the queue even if they were late or if there appointment is later.. I DONOT recommend this surgery to anyone, save yourselves and go to another surgery! they are time wasters, with incredibly rude receptionists ... especially the one with the glasses and the one with the hijab on! I cannot wait to move surgeries!! DISGUSTING
Terrible place. Long waiting times, favourable people allowed to jump the queue. Health visitors not helpful. I went there for advice about breastfeeding. They isolated me in this tiny room, it was so small, only one chair could fit in there. They just left me there to cry alone with my screaming baby. Terrible terrible really bad support.
Horrible service. Can’t get an appointment will rang bang on 830 and no one picks up for twenty minutes then all appointments are gone. You wait ages to get an appointment. You merge three doctors into one. It doesn’t work!!!!! This needs some serious thinking about.
First of all for those who are moaning about the calls appointment there are other methods that you can do it... either online or straight to the reception... I've done calls appointments also, I've been the 9th on the waiting que but didn't last more than 30 min like most of the ppl say... The staff is really kind and really helpful, for example I've asked for some information and I get more than I was actually expected... The doctors and the nurses are very professional and very patient ... All my experiences with this medical center turned out better than I expected...so five stars from me I wish I could give more... many many thanks And another thing that I would like to point is that I am a foreigner...but I didn't feel somehow discouraged in any way...
Went to have my first dose of my covid 19 vaccene and as I am trying to get my second dose apparently this place haven't even marked me as having the first dose..... Now I can't get my second dose
Terrible service you call at 8 no answer Called 30x since 8am and the phone either rings out or cuts off. I wouldn't even leave one star!
