Had two nights over the weekend and was not disappointed! We stayed in the pink room, which was clean and comfortable. The food served in the restaurant was delicious, and the young staff serving we're polite and efficient. The pub was noisy on the Friday as there was a band playing. The hotel didn't hide the fact that it may get noisy as it states on the website and on the information sheet in the room, so was expected. The band were quite good too. Lovely location to explore the area which is very pretty indeed Will definitely be back.
This is a nice pub fronting the River Severn in Ironbridge. They provide rooms on a B&B basis. We had a good 2 night stay. The breakfast was very good. Dinner was great but the service was slow. There seemed to be more interest in the smart phone than getting orders in and meals out. The room was in an annexe, The Bakehouse, was very cold, and the electric heater made little impact. There was nowhere to hang anything in the bathroom & it was hard to regulate the water temperature in the shower. The hanging rail was very naff with too few hangers. A proper wardrobe would be better and there is plenty of space for one. Who thought a bath in the room was a good idea? OK, it was sort of screened from the bed, but with a shower in the bathroom, it would be interesting to know how often it is used.
I went for a lovely last minute lunch today with 2 friends. We all had sandwiches from the lunch menu. I chose the chicken club sandwich and ‘upgraded’ to include thick cut chips. The sandwich was delicious, freshly made with good ratios of fillings. The chips were a nice addition and well cooked. Super fluffy on the inside and crunchy and golden outside. Generous portion sizes, we each had a sandwich and shared 2 x chip ‘upgrades’ between us and that was more then plenty! Always enjoy eating here. Will definitely be back!
I dined here recently and had a good experience. The food menu was nice with plenty of options and well priced. I had starter and main which came out quickly and the waitress was really helpful and on the ball. There wasn't much in terms of the wow factor so 4/5
Absolutely splendid evening ! Very cosy warm inviting dining area. And the food was delicious. Very very good steak ! Attentive polite staff. Superb experience will definitely book again. You have to try the cocktail menu ! Perfect Espresso martini ! 10/10 5* ! Food & drinks: Great selection of local products
Glasses are always filthy had lipstick on the glass bar staff apologetic for a clean glass next drink had lipstick and dirt on again…The restaurant area Is nice rest of the pub could do with a clean. Would recommend one of the other pubs along this row as I came back to see if it was an off day but it was the same again dirty glasses. Not impressed won’t be returning
Lovely food, perfect location and views. Service at bar was mixed as long waiting times, seemed to be lots of staff but only a few could serve at the bar. On the whole though a really lovely pub with great foodService: 3/5
We ate there once for and evening meal, both meals were tasteless....Chefs are adding less salt, but you need to add something, as the moussaka tasted of watery cheese and uncooked aubergine. Garlic bread was simply buttered bread....no apology from the staff when we told them. Bland food went perfectly well with the bland decor. Don't bother.
I stayed in the Lounge Suite and it was super clean and decorated beautifully! There was plenty of space and despite it being freezing outside, it was always warm and cosy. From check in, all the staff we had the pleasure to meet were always really friendly and acted like nothing was too much! The only issue we had was there seemed to be an issue with hot water, if you were in for more than 5 minutes, or in the mornings less than that, the water would go freezing. We did mention it and were told maintenance would come to fix it but the problem continued, so we just made sure to keep showers short and sweet. Also, the walls are rather thin between the suites, this wasn't an issue with a quieter, more considerate neighbouring guest The first night of our stay was silent but on the other nights you could hear every word, bang and snore and was even awoken by the sound of the man using the bathroom! Overall it was a really nice, relaxing stay, and I would definitely recommend the place. The food served was outstanding and the location of this place couldn't be much better. Rooms: The Lounge Suite was beautifully decorated as well as being very bright and open. The little conservatory was a nice, unexpected extra and the bathroom was huge! The room was immaculate too. Walkability: Less than a five minute walk to the Ironbridge.
Enjoyed an evening meal. Food was well presented, supplied hot and tasted nice. A good choice of options on the menu, including some vegetarian optionsService: 5/5
