Nice place. Good service. I prefer kooky, places worth crooked ceilings and floors just for the character and ambience.

Biggest complaint, why were all the radiators turned up so high? It was uncomfortably hot 🔥 even with the heat off and the window open.

I recommend that they ask the guest their temperature preference before checking in, either through email, text, or voice call.

I filmed a wedding here just before Christmas and it was magical. The were very helpful to me and as far as I could tell they did everything in their power to make the day a special as possible for the bride and groom. They even had a snow machine. The food was also excellent.

Stayed two nights breakfast was unbelievable choice and selection at a fixed  price. Room was very good loved local pictures view in bathroom  and free use of computer and WiFi  staff were very professional and helpful being independent hotel found it an excellent place to stay

We went for afternoon tea and were delighted with the selection. A fairly standard selection of sandwiches (cucumber, ham and mustard, salmon and cream cheese etc.) was followed by some really lovely scones (one fruit and one cheese), and topped off with some delicious cakes and desserts. The staff were really friendly and happy to assist with providing more drinks, and the prices were very reasonable. Toilets were clean and modern too, and the surroundings were relaxing. Would love to try them again for dinner next time.

Excellent central hotel.  Recently refurbishedrooms and historical oak panelled splendour to enjoy.
