First of all the restaurant/ bar if very dirty, shabby and in need of improvement. Sticky bar desk / my elbow got stuck to it! , the menu card covered with grease , wallpaper falling off the walls...nWhen we bought our drinks and sat down at the table , contemplating to order some food later, we were approached by staff member stating that these tables are for dining only and had to be prebooked. What? ?? The area was all empty, so why couldn't we sit there ?? We refused to move and asked to speak to manager who eventually allowed us to stay there. Mood however was ruined and we no longer wanted to eat there.nWon't be returning, EVER!
Restaurant lets this Premier Inn down. My wife and I booked one night 01/08/24 to 02/08/24.nThe staff were excellent the room was acceptable although on this occasion we found the bed and pillows a bit uncomfortable, strange really as all previous stays at a Premier Inn have been excellent.nThe real disappointment was the state of the restaurant area. The tables were worn and really need replacing. The floor area was disgusting especially the carpeted areas full of grime and not very nice at all.
A basic room, but it is still clean and comfortable. Breakfast was self-service and there were a good selection of items. We stayed one night to attend a nearby Take That concert. The only downside was that by the time we returned to the hotel after the concert, which was around 23:10pm, last orders had been called so we couldn't have a nightcap.
I’ve stayed in a lot of Premier Inns and had some decent experiences but here I felt that the staff made things overcomplicated and anything a little bit out of the ordinary seemed to really exasperate them. E.g. two of us came down for breakfast we had to give an allocated time for this when we checked in and the staff member gave a big sigh when we said we wanted a table for 4. There were other little moments like this, it just wasn’t that friendly and there was a lack of can do attitude.
This hotel is absolutely lovely. It's a great location, which is great access to everything in norwich only a little walk into the city centre and great location near the entertainment restaurants, bowling, golf etc which is absolutely brillant for family vacations, friends or romantic.nThe breakfast is absolutely lovely and the staff are absolutely brillant. My daughter is a real chatterbox and my daughter will stop and talk to anyone and the reception staff were lovely and spent time with her and made us all feel very welcome .nnI will just say to any families who's staying at the hotel there's a one stop near by, and we did have some trouble with people outside shouting abuse at us and proper coming towards us but nothing wrong with the hotel just be careful for people nearby and your surroundings. But it's a shame as the location is lovely, and from the entertainment to the hotel is a lovely river walk.
