Story

Boasting a stunning riverside location and a comfortable, laid back atmosphere The Lowther is the perfect place to enjoy traditional pub food by day and party till late in our two large music bars by night.

We have recently had a refurbishment and we are now looking more modern than ever before! We serve food throughout the day, with many special offers on the menu. We also have an outside seating area, which is all table service!

During the evenings we have a state of the art jukebox boasting over 5000 tracks for you to select from, and we now have a resident DJ playing all of your favourite songs on the weekend nights!

We have a wide range of drinks on offer, with special discounts available depending upon when you visit! Just ask at the bar for our special deals!

Lovely atmosphere. Plenty of tables inside. Will call in next time I visit York.
Lovely pub. Was a touch damp out the day we visited though! But despite having to walk over a bridge to get in the door we had a lovely time sat in the window watching the river go by.
Sat outside by the river. Had to wait a few minutes for a table but it was a nice warm day. Service was prompt and had a few guests visit us in the form of geese. Great place to chill and have a beer.
Absolutely fantastic afternoon tea 2 for a tenner unbelievable value top class and the sevice from the young lady behind the bar second to none. Thank you. Highly recommended

Very nice pub, lovely location and helpful staff.
Nicely refurbished pub with a good outside seating area right on the river. Table service outside so life couldn't be easier! Pretty flowers outside make a nice touch to the friendly feel as well.
The food is good but not terrific. If you are hungry and walk close to the place is a good option near the river.
