Good ales, outside seating. Does get very busy so we found ourselves sitting on the edge of the river which was absolutely fine as the sun was out. Gets a good amount of sun too and prices are standard for the area
Lovely place, traditional to say the least but friendly staff, good service and we all know the rules for a Sam's pub. No electronics or Brands. So this review comes from up the Rd. Thanks guys we will be back, enjoyed the sovereign.
Traditional Sam Smiths pub no swearing no mobile equipment nice place for a quite drink in the beer garden. Good prices nice staff. Very refreshing somewhere to talk other than electronic speak, although different was probably the norm in the past.
Stopped for a drink here as the sun was out and it was a nice spot to sit and enjoy the Riverside. Had some local ales and not expensive! Cash only bar so had to get some cash out but was a machine nearby so no problem.
A historic Sam Smith's pub by the river in the centre of York. Only Sam's beers on sale, my favourite being the Stout. A really good beer. Social distancing in force and well organised
We had some drinks sitting outside..the service was prompt..we were served by a tallish chap who was very efficient/polite even though it was busy..this gentleman clearly knows his job.. bar staff of this calibre should be valued...He deserves a pay rise....!!!!
Nice view from the sitting area. Pub was ok. Waiters was on too form. Great service.
It's OK... if you like Stone's beers! Nothing else really. Pub is a 'bit up itself' truth be told, with staff not having a single smile between them. Only thing going for it is its' location by the river / bridge... and there are other nicer pubs further along / next to it.
