We came here because Wikitravel recommended the seafood. It was mediocre at best, and I found it odd that none of their beer was on tap. Compared to the fish and chips I had in Dores, it’s almost appalling that a place overlooking the ocean somehow had blander fish. The chips were also disappointing. 

I’m knocking off another star because we had to flag the servers down every time we needed something. The place was full, but it seems like other tables were getting regular check-ins. I can’t recommend this place at all. My wife did enjoy her skink stew, though.

Do I have a -1 rating option? The food taste is just acceptable however the service really sucks. Staff are unprofessional and sometime impatient. Actually we were directed in this restaurant by its 4.0 rating because other high score restaurants in the neighbourhood were fully booked. After the unpleasant dining experience, I finally knew this restaurant had vacancies for a reason. One of their waitress missed one dish out of our order. And she was trying to argue with me that we had not ordered properly. I decided to ignore her mistake at first because I thought it was not a big deal only if I could get my food. However, I got a wrong  dish which I never ordered. And they just threw the plate onto your table, not willing to stay for any 1 sec longer. I would not regard this as an efficient way of communicating with your customer.
I do not know why there are so many high score rating to this restaurant, even commenting with good service. If these were true, I can only explain this phenomena by my Asian look. Did we get differentiated with other customers by our look? Thus I think it is my responsibility to calibrate the biased 4.0 rating to its normal performance.

Food is ok, but nothing special. The Cranachan was disappointing, but the soups are good. Mains are mixed.

Pretty busy and through that not very cozy. 

Choice of Talisker whiskys is really good.

Waiting staff did what it said on the tin. However were being more attentive to other diners. When it came to splitting the bill they were a bit awkward too. Food was ok. If they were a bit more attentive they would have got a tip. I always tip 20% for good service so they missed out there.
