A warm welcome from very friendly staff, food was absolutely amazing, very tasty, loved the decor throughout this pub and restaurant keep up the good work in very trying times. Thank you, we will definitely see you again in the future.
I’ve been here three times now and the first two were good so I was excited to spend Christmas Eve here. The restaurant was nicely furnished and Chrismassy. Unfortunately my main meal looked atrocious. I ordered the vegetarian main course. It was full of salt which overpowered the possibility of tasting anything else, if you can see anything else on the plate! Presentation is part of a meal, making it look appetising. It was as expected, busy so I didn’t make a fuss, my post is late too however, they may see this and it may help with future Christmas Vegetarian meals. This meal cost a lot due to the time of year so I’d have expected more My starter was also bland.
Usually dine at The Devonshire, sister restaurant of The Lion but eaten at The Lion the last couple of dine outs. Both venues are excellent in terms of food and service and I would highly recommend either Booking essential for both
Very good food and the device was great despite them having two tables of 12 for Christmas Dinner.
Fantastic food. Very tasty and well presented. Mid range price but nowhere is cheap these days and you get what you pay for. Lovely ambience. The plates and glassware are really lovely, which I think adds to the experience. Would recommend.
Absolutely top notch food again. Just a lovely relaxing setting, perfect service and a beautiful choice of perfectly cooked and presented food. I had the blade of beef which was so good. It has been cooked long and slow and just fell apart with tenderness. The mushroom pot starter was divine and the chocolate brownie dessert with almond mascapone and vanilla ice cream was really delicious. Couldn't fault any of it. Well done, and thank you.
19/03/23 Just returned home from a birthday/ Mothers day meal. Absolutely amazing food/drink. Every course was delicious. Truly superb meal with a fabulous warm welcome and excellent service. Lovely touch with the Mother's day treat of a lovely plant. Many thanks to all involved. Lots of love from The Mullans.
We had a great afternoon and service and food was good
Had a beautiful meal in here today. All 4of us enjoyed it. Staff were brilliant to. Well done. Next time I come up from Cornwall will certainly be calling in here again
Having grown up in Farnsfield and know the pub well, well I thought I did. It's been many years since I was last here and what a change, the place looks completely different and was a nice experience. The food. Well a chip butty... Just a chip butty, ordered as a small snack option and not expecting a plate with what looked like a full meal. Trust me when I say this place is worth every penny and a great choice for a family gathering. Will be returning on my next family visit.
