We parked our Motor home in the car park over night in return we agreed to eat in the pub and we weren’t disappointed. The menu offered all the pub favourites plus a few specials. I chose the Gammon steak which was huge. It came with egg, chips, pineapple, mushroom, onion rings, salad and I ordered a side of coleslaw. It was perfect. My wife went for the Ox Cheeks a favourite of ours from Spain. With creamy mash and fresh veg it was perfectly cooked and delicious. The pub itself is excellent with several different bar areas. We chose the Fox Den an old fashioned Snug with leather seats. There is a large covered seating area at the rear that looked appealing even in the rain. Staff were really friendly and helpful. This is a great pub though they didn’t have a large range of beers and wines the food is the main selling point. We will definitely come back and I would recommend this place, especially to motorhomer’s visiting the area.
Good value for money, I would say the kids option is limited it’s as it comes ,which with kids that are fussy with food is a pain. But the food was very good, it was my first time here for food and I will certainly be coming back. The pub is divide into many different areas which works well Ideal for family’s as there is a well equipped park with high metal fence and a gate so kids are safe, and parents can see through the fence which is great. Ample amount of parking
Superb overnight stop in out Motorhome. Food was awesome and all amenities available. Nothing was too much trouble and we will definitely be back! There should, however, be a health warning for the sharing meat platter - oh my goodness! Couldn’t finish it even though it was so yummy!
Me and my partner always drive past here and say we will go in but never did. Today we decided to and had a beautiful roast dinner. We both had the pork dinners. Portions look small but it’s deceiving as everything is hidden under the massive, delicious yorkshire pudding. We were quick to get served and seated and food was quick to come out too which was good as we were absolutely starving. The pork was lovely and soft too, barely any fat and they didn’t skimp on it either. Only complaint is that we wish we came here sooner! We will 100% be back.
Stopped halfway from Newcastle under Lyme to Skegness for lunch. Lovely pub full of character. Friendly staff, great service, plenty of amenities inc free parking/ outdoor children’s play area and outdoor food. Food arrived quickly tasted delicious and not overpriced. Well recommended
The staff they had on at the time of our visit were nothing short of on point in every way. Female assume she was a manager was very welcoming and could not help enough. Waiting staff top draw and hit every point. Food was outstanding for the price point and staff attentive even after service. Very very good experience and would not hesitate to return. Well done team Fox
Great place,friendly staff lovely food
Just popped in for Sunday lunch with my partner. Yorkshire pudding as big as a cereal bowl. Lovely food and staff.
Came for Sunday lunch with my mum. I had soup to start absolutely delicious was definitely homemade. Followed by a very tasty Sunday roast really nice fresh ingredients really enjoyable.
Sunday lunch, so Sunday menu, roast dinner was ok, nothing special pork was a bit tough as was some of the vegetables, roast potatoes and gravy was beautiful. Sticky toffee pudding and custard were delicious . However, when seated at our table, no one explained to you that you needed to order at the bar, so we sat there for a while before we realised. The restaurant part where you eat was absolutely freezing , which made you uncomfortable to enjoy, I personally will not be visiting again
