The food is very good and reasonably priced. They also have a vegan menu. The Thai vegan burger was delicious. Beautifully decorated, some of the old parts are still there and they have mismatched tables and chairs which creates an old /traditional atmosphere.
Excellent pub serving a great range of cask ales. Very interesting building and decor. Didn’t eat but food looked good and also offers takeaway pizzas that are made on the premises. Very dog friendly too.
Lovely comfortable traditional old pub. The food is so good it's very difficult to choose! Everything I have had has been delicious and served in large portions. Very friendly staff.
To start, the building is a true gem, a beautiful little 15th century town house. The staff are warm and welcoming, the food is delightful and the prices very reasonable.

Stopped off in newark on way home to Birmingham from lincolnshire. Just wanted a nice meal. We all had the pie. It was amazing. Will definitely go back there. Plus the building is one of the oldest inns. 1452!!!
Fab atmosphere, first class food .... Extremely generous portions.... Lovely place. Oh and it's dog friendly x
