Excellent meal I had the 8oz rump stake and the Mrs had the chicken snd pulled ham pie. Well it was out of this world.. even when they were very buzzy. Will go again and the photo was taken just after it was put on the table and it didn't last long enough to take a pic.
Been here a few times with friends and colleagues. Great pub, reasonably priced drinks and great food. Highly recommended. Booked for my sons 16th birthday, when we turned up the table was all decorated. Was a lovely suprise. Food was very good again.
This quickly became our go to pub when we want to treat ourselves to a decent meal out. I've been about 10 times in the last 18 months with my wife and 3 children and every time we leave we are speechless at the level of service we are provided. The food is always delicious, and comes out astonishingly fast. The staff are always happy to help and tend to your needs. A special thank you to Alana- it might be because we usually sit at the same table but oddly, Alana always seems to serve us! Always service with a smile and laughing and joking with my children. We had a right laugh the other day as my wife ordered mushy peas with her cod and chips and when it came out the pot was on the plate for mushy peas, but with nothing in it! My family and Alana all envisaged together the kitchen staffs confusion on that one and had a proper giggle about it. This is the only mishap we have ever had here but Alana was swift to sort it. The most friendly, inviting atmosphere of any pub you will frequent, and to top it off, fantastic food and service. Visit this pub! You will not be disappointed. Unless you're a Karen.
Lovely old fashioned pub in Charlton. The food is lovely and well prepared and very good value as well. The staff are very friendly and polite. Definitely worth a visit here. P.S. The Mixed Grill is absolutely amazing, not to be missed. You probably won’t need a starter if you go for the Mixed Grill., it is big but l lovely.
Very friendly and obliging staff, great atmosphere and reasonable prices at the bar too. I'll have to come back and have a meal some time!

Busy, managed to squeeze me and my 2 girls in after popping round to chestnut and Anton with no luck on a Friday evening, very friendly staff very welcoming and great atmosphere and food
Great pub and very busy. Good selection of cask ales and a very food menu. Would recommend checking if you want to eat to make sure you get a table. There is also ample parking at the back of the pub.
A great local pub, with brilliant food and drink options at reasonable pricing. Staff are excellent and always welcoming. Would highly recommend!
