I visited this Sunday and was treated to one of the most satisfying roasts I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere was everything you'd expect from a cozy British pub—warm lighting, friendly chatter, and the comforting smell of roast dinners in the air.nnThe roast itself was outstanding. I opted for the beef, which was perfectly pink in the middle and tender throughout. It came with all the traditional trimmings—crispy roast potatoes, vibrant seasonal vegetables, and a Yorkshire pudding that was both fluffy and crisp. The gravy tied everything together beautifully, rich and generously poured.nnService was attentive without being overbearing, and the staff seemed genuinely passionate about what they were serving. The portion size was generous, making it a great value for the price. I paired the meal with a good berry cider, which complemented the roast nicely.nnIf you're looking for a classic, comforting Sunday meal in a relaxed setting, The Hesketh hits the mark. Highly recommended for anyone craving a traditional British roast done right.
Fast service. And I must say very polite and patient staff.nI went there last Sunday and ordered Sunday Beef Roast ,I am very fussy eater and usually anxious about trying new foods but it was amazing.it looks delicious but tastes even better. Thanks
Haven't been since it's closed and reopened but I thought I'd give it a go and wasn't disappointed!nnI went for the soy glazed roast chicken and skin on fries and it was absolutely delicious! It came with a gravy and chilli jam and I can honestly say the jam is the nicest I've ever had. Props to the chef, he's got the food bang on! Will definitely be returning for more as it's very reasonably priced too.
We visited the Hesketh on Christmas Day as a family of four. The adults found the soup starter to be a bit too peppery for our taste. For the main course, the vegetarian option was delicious, especially the sides, though the tart was less impressive but still edible. My husband and kids thoroughly enjoyed their turkey dinner. We missed out on the champagne sorbet between courses, but it wasn’t a big issue since we were already quite full. Overall, we were pleased to spend Christmas Day at the Hesketh, and appreciated that we didn’t feel rushed.
I had the Sunday roast beef at The Hesketh Arms, and it was absolutely fantastic. The beef was tender, perfectly pink in the center, and full of rich, savory flavor. It was served with all the traditional trimmings: golden, crispy roast potatoes, buttered seasonal vegetables, a giant fluffy Yorkshire pudding, and lashings of thick, homemade gravy. High recommended .
