It’s a difficult one to review this. The food is good and the staff are great and they cater very well for gluten free. Also the pub is lovely and inviting and warm. The problem is that they can’t get the carvery right. It just takes too long to get served. Understand it’s Sunday and you are busy - but sort it out, maybe put more staff on behind the counter 21mins we stood in a queue for food which is too long.
Lovely pub inside and out. Food on the carvery is really good quality. Made the mistake of getting too much! But it was awesome. Lamb shank and beef were to die for.
Fantastic pub, with a great selection of drinks and although the menu is quite small, the food is simply wonderful. The sirloin steak was absolutely delicious!
The Hesketh experience just gets better and better. This time not only was the food amazing, our waiter has been superb, walking the extra mile every time despite it being a very busy moment NYDay , the chef was very flexible and kind, offering to cook me the veggies from scratch to make it suitable for vegans, they made an amazing vegan pizza see picture I can't be thank them enough for the service and the food.
Opted for the Roast Beef Dinner. Massive Yorkshire pudding and a good plate of food. Nice gravey too. A thumbs up from me.
Great place for a Sunday Roast, always fresh and full of variety of meat and vegs. The place is nice and cosy, weekends always busy. Worthy to wait for a table, highly recommended
Easy off road parking. The meals and service have always been good.
Awful customer service. Had a booking and seated us right next to the carvery section. Was far too hot to sit and enjoy a meal there. I even explained my husband has a medical condition and can’t get too hot. Refused to move us to another table even though the pub was quiet and so many tables were empty. They could have easily swapped tables. Wasn’t accommodating at all. I explained if they couldn’t re-seat us we would leave an go somewhere else. They didn’t and we’re happy to lose customers.
I've been to this pub a few years ago & found it to be a nice pub with a good carvery. I went there a couple of weeks ago & found it friendly, updated & the new owners trying so hard to make it work. Food lovely and staff helpful. I find some of the recent reviews picky & a little bit OTT? Not sure what their agenda is but I'll definitely be back tokeep a new business going!
Got turned away because we hadn't made a booking yet only a couple of tables had reserved signs on them, lots of empty tables and a completely empty beer garden. For a new business I find it crazy that you are literally turning money away. A few other people also commented on how bad the carvery was saying that we had had a lucky escape being turned away. We did put this on your Facebook page but instead of replying to us you decided to delete the comments, strange way of dealing with customer complaints. If it's bookings only then simply mention this on your social media but when there are plenty of empty tables surely you'd prefer paying customers sat on them.
