26 of us went for a Christmas meal. The staff were welcoming and efficient even when it was so busy. The room they gave us was great - we could hear the music but could hear each other too. The food was outstanding. Everyone was really impressed and said they wanted to return next year. It came on time, looked great and tasted amazing. I loved the wine too! Thank you for an amazing evening.
Never eaten here before.. Nice atmosphere on arrival and a good well spaced out pub. Opted for the 2 meat roast whilst my wife had the 12hr roast beef lunch. On appearance looked very appealing but unfortunately the roast beef which was my first taste was very chewy. So tried another piece from which again was very chewy. So tried the turkey which was OK but had a rather old taste to it.. the star of the show was the vegetables. The swede mash was nicely seasoned as well as the red cabbage. 2 half cut roast potatoes.. underseasoned and cold have at least had a couple more. The gravey again was lacked flavour but that is my personal taste. For the price it was OK in all but in all was disappointed in comparing with other pub roasts we have had. Nice atmosphere though and great for families.
Lovely Pub To Dine In! Great atmosphere and food was lovely very filling portions. Highly recommend.
I found the John Millington to have a lovely atmosphere, people chatting, instead of no loud blaring music in some places I've visited, there's 3 of us eating with , all Inc soup of the day , main and 2 extras then 3 drinks .. we only had a bottle of water during.. the meal . It was just over £68.00nnWe all loved Our meals ..nnGo there for yourself .. And See the Environment for yourself ....n.nAs you can see I hardly touched my Ring Onions , As I loved my Char grilled sauce burger with fries so much .. however.. the rings are juicy with a crunch...nnSince then I've been twice more with friends .. a Great place ! ..nnColin the Manager , been there 6 years , living aboving the pub .. the pub has 4 cheifs and a sous chef .. and a large workforce.. plus a gluten free menu..
My son and I went in half 6 Saturday evening having just phoned ahead to check. Pub was bustling with a good atmosphere and the restaurant was filling up.nnLovely friendly staff tended to us throughout the meal which was delicious!nnI had the chicken fillet, which had lovely crispy skin and the caramelised onion and potato gratin was fantastic and all held together with a great sauce. He had rump steak, medium rare, which was really nicely cooked.nnDesserts were equally good. I had sticky toffee pudding which was moist with lots of toffee sauce and a really generous helping of ice cream. He had the chocolate and salted caramel cake which was chocoholics heaven!nnHighly recommended.
