I visited Griffin Bar yesterday during a very difficult time in my life. I had just received the heartbreaking news that two of my friends had passed away in India. I’m new to Manchester and have recently started a new job, so I was already feeling very stressed and emotional. I came to the bar hoping to have a quiet drink and calm myself.nnUnfortunately, my experience made things worse. The staff member behind the bar tall, wearing glasses was quite rude. The bar was not busy, and when I politely asked for tap water, he responded in a very low and unclear manner. I couldn’t understand him, and another customer nearby laughed, which made me feel uncomfortable and embarrassed.nnAfter serving me a couple of drinks, he also seemed to avoid serving me further, which added to the negative experience. As a BA Hons Hospitality Management student and I am working as an F&B manager in a big hotel, I understand how stressful this job can be. However, professionalism, basic courtesy, and empathy are essential in hospitality, especially when a guest may be going through a difficult time.nnI hope this feedback is taken constructively, as small acts of kindness can make a big difference.n
I have visited this pub by a recommendation. I stayed at a hotel near by and was looking for a nice place to eat. The pub was not too busy and my food was served piping hot and on time. Staff was very polite. I would definitely visit again.nThank you
Visited here this evening for an evening meal with my partner & 2 children hadn’t booked but was found a table promptly.nnOur server Liam was a bubbly individual extremely polite & very friendly & above all very attentive making sure we had all we needed, I work in hospitality myself & know how demanding the role can be despite this Liam had a smile throughout despite being fairly busy.nTop marks for that nnThe food was beautiful & good value for money all 4 of us cleared our plates including my fussy eating daughter which is rare.nnOverall experience was 5* and we will definitely be back!!!
Lovely pub. If I lived in the area it would be my go to place. Staff are very attentive. We had a 2 course special with drink for £22.50. The prawn and chorizo starter was really nice. I ordered the gammon for my main. There was no pineapple, I was told I'd get extra chips after I asked if they were offering an alternative to pineapple, that didn't happen. The presentation was nice. The gammon was rather salty.As I was driving I chose coke zero, unfortunately it was from the fountain and flat. I would go back here, but choose something different to eat. There is free parking, make sure you enter your registration into the machine.
Fresh pizzas, lovely food. The young lad who served us our food was SO positive and full of energy, not sure of his name...but he was really nice and made us smile :nWould recommend this pub to locals/others. Great value for money.
