Great little museum with a great history to share! Went here today and it was only booked privately for me and my husband. The staff Joe was really nice and helpful. Overall the experience we had was amazing!
Lovely, friendly little museum about the astronomer, Caroline Herschel serial comet discoverer and her fellow astronomer brother, William who discovered Uranus from this house. It has some great artefacts which give an insight into their life in Bath - the film about them which is shown in the basement is a particular highlight.
Small but very interesting museum with a fantastic history. Definitely worth a visit for those interested in astronomy, physics or who just want to get away from the crowds.
Great little museum with a lot of information on Herschel, his sister and their huge contributions to astronomy. Reasonable price, lots of authentic furniture, scientific tools and various objects. Definitely an underrated museum about an underrated pair of scientists.
A really interesting museum! Really close to the city centre and a nice little end to a day in Bath. Quite small so doesn’t take too long to get around it, we took around 30 minutes but guess it could take more or less depending on if you look and read everything.
A nice little museum. Quite expensive for a family as not a huge amount to see or do. Would have been good to learn more about both him and his sister.
Very lovely little Georgian terraced house where Herschel lived with his sister, they would sit in the garden and look at the heavens....they discovered the planet Uranus while sitting there sipping tea...there is a short film on a loop the explains the exhibits and tells us something of these armchair scientists.
Nice little house turned into a museum depicting how William Herschel lived his life and his stories on the discovery of Uranus and Infrared waves
