Stopped by for a lunch break. Was really empty,maybe 4-6 people all together. Place is nice and clean,classic english pub/restaurant look,but really clean,no smoking inside. Had fish and chips. Would come back to this place again. Maybe next time for a drink,was impressed on the size of bars, I have seen 2 bars.
Popped in with some work colleagues after work. Food was very good. Nice and hot. Plenty of parking. There was a private function going on so only a small seating area to choose from. Would visit again if passing.Food: 5/5
I hosted my sons 1st birthday party in the Herongate Suite at The Halfway House and it was absolutely perfect. The space ticks every box and all my guests couldn’t believe how nice it was. Deanne was a huge help and couldn’t do anymore for us. Will definitely use this space again for further events. Thank you!
I don’t usually write reviews however I came in a couple weeks ago for a Sunday roast with my family on the off chance for a table, they were super busy but the lovely staff managed to squeeze us in. The roasts were so tasty and the portions were so big I couldn’t finish my plate! The gravy is just to die for and I asked for their recipe and they said it’s one of the chefs secrets. Very worth taking a trip out of your way for their lovely Sunday roast! Staff were extremely attentive and helpful. Would come again for sure!! 5*!!
“EXCEPTIONAL WAKE FOR OUR MOTHER” We had our mother’s Wake at Herongate Suite. I cannot thank Deanne and her team enough for their attentiveness, respectfulness and kindness everything was just perfect. We had tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival and a hot buffet, all of which was excellent. Deanne was so helpful prior to the day with the arrangements.She supported us with decorating the venue the day before - nothing was too much for her. A perfect day to celebrate our mother. Thank you so much Deanne and her team! x
Food is always piping hot when it gets to you. I’ve enjoyed every meal I’ve had here. The curry had celery in it..... in my eyes, that’s a little strange. The staff are very friendly and can accommodate your needs if you have any dietary conditions. Would come here again, thumbs up from me

Went for Xmas day meal, superb service from all staff, tables laid beautifully ,starters were great unfortunately the main meal although cooked nicely lacked in meat content lots of vegetables, bit disappointed owing to cost of meal but do realise it was Xmas day however more meat would have been nice. Saying all that I would try again for standard meal.
Just come back from lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday at the Half way House. In all the times I have driven past on the 127 this is the 1st time we have been in there. I'm kicking myself for not going in before. It's a lovely pub/ restaurant nice decor, toilets spotless better than alot of more up market restaurants. The food was delicious, and the service by the 2 waitresses was spot on. Would definitely recommend.
Brilliant, attended a leaving meal, there was 10 of us and some of us stayed at the table chatting for hours, they didn't rush us or move us just let us sit there and cleared up around us on other tables, not very expensive eitherFood: 5/5
