I would like to make you aware of countless number of disfunctioning kits in the gym in Stockwell first of all I've always thought that this gym Is one of, presumably, the best "the gyms" branches in town but I think in the last few months this opinion has completely changed there is a clear lack of maintaining of different machines and kits in this gym this include but not exclusive to weight Machines, Treadmills , Step machine Calf machine Ez bar biceps seat Lockers also need maintaining fixing Also why removing the sanitising sprays from the gym?? I've taken a number of pics
Equipment is old, and needs replacing. Dumbbells only go up to 38kg. The lockers are all broken and in terrible conditions except a few that are intact. During peak hours the single bench press can have over an hour of wait. Some of the benches are dangerous and not fit for use and can lead to serious injury. This gym makes no effort to invest into better equipment despite being clearly over subscribed. It’s quite pathetic to be increasing cost from £28 a month to £35 over the span of 2 years without any discernible increase in quality. And don’t bother with the copy and pasted response.
Sent a complaint directly to the the gym group about being shouted at and spoken to aggressively by a member of staff to not get any response at all. Seems ideal being a cheap gym but I just wouldn’t bother if this is how they treat long term paying customers. Plenty of other local gyms in close proximity which will provide a better service. -Equipment is old and usually broken for weeks before being fixed -the gym isn’t clean -weights are dumped all over the building and never organised back to where they belong -lockers are all broken I could carry on but the above is enough to show what a sorry state this gym is!
It’s a decent gym but the cleaner was a bit weird. It was around 2 or 1 am and I went to have to use the shower facilities in the changing room I went to use the shower my top was off about to press the on button and then the cleaner knocks saying I can’t have a shower because I need the floor to dry for 30 minutes I was kind and said oh okay? After some back and forth he said it’s fine but the floors can’t be walked on for 30 minutes? I pay for my membership to be told I can’t use the facilities I paid for? Also he goes into the female’s changing rooms too which shouldn’t be happening get a female cleaner for that
Pro -The gym has enough machines to do good workouts Toilets are cleaned Cons -it is totally untidy. There is no one who tries to put dumbbells, barbells, and weights in their place. -the internet doesn't work once there are more than 40 - 50 people at the gym. Why offer this perk if you won't have enough wifi repeaters for more than 50 people??? -there are not enough cleaning stations
Been a member here for over a year. I pay £35 for a Live It membership and I can now say the standards at this gym are so poor that it’s not even worth £3.50 a month! For the last 3 months the same treadmills have not been working and had ‘out of order’ signs on them. When I was at the gym on Saturday those 3 treadmills were still out of action, plus another 3. The treadmills are old, which is probably why they break so often. They have buttons to control it on the screen and the bar below it, but the buttons work on only one or both elements of the machine, on some of the treadmills. There’s a sign outside the gym advertising, “low cost, high spec”. Having been a member for over a year I can assure you that The equipment here is ancient, in gym terms. It reminds me of ex-local council gyms that have low budgets. The cleanliness at this gym is terrible. The cup holders on treadmills are never cleaned so they are always lined with stickiness from users bottles which then attracts grime and dust. I’ve also found users hair bands and used plasters in the drink holders. It’s very unhygienic. The bottom of machines are caked in dust and the floor behind the treadmills never get cleaned. There are random loose wires sticking out of the stationary bikes that have the viewing screens. The WiFi is non-existent so you have to rely on 3G which is stronger than their WiFi. I was offered two free Yanga drinks. I tried using the machine but it dispenses a dribble of liquid. I tried another flavour and the same thing happened. I then tried a third time and that was my ‘two free drinks’ used up! Clearly that doesn’t work either and if you sign up it costs you £4 per month so I wonder if other users complain? The water fountain pressure is weak and you have to pull the button back up yourself otherwise it doesn’t turn off. I’ve messaged the owners but never hear back so it looks like it’s a place they don’t care about, which is no way to run a business.
Second visit to this gym... very impressed. Has a peaceful and calm feel, the users were focused and civil. Great to see staff members engaging with the users and seeming to enjoy their work. Looking forward to my next session...
Hello, I have been going to the gym group Stockwell for a month now and I like it so far. I’d like to thank and encourage Suzy Molnar who is really the greatest example on how all personal trainers should be at the gym, nothing but an amazing approach and such a motivational spirit, from her way in dealing with clients to her smile that never fades away at the gym. Ps: the wifi sucks Please fix it!
Gym equipments are in good working condition. There are just 2 male toilets, and 1 is faulty. Too many people sharing the toilets and they are either in use or dirty when not in use. Bathrooms are many but 1 also faulty. Most of these gyms don't pay enough attention to customer convenience. I mean, we know we're coming to workout but what happens during or after workout if you need to ease yourself? You walk to the toilets and it's busy. When the person comes out, some people don't mind jumping in straightaway but I personally wouldn't. Note that there's no private changing room and there is no free parking space in front of the gym and no car park at the gym or anywhere close. The parking bays in front of the main entrance are for zipcars so you might as well rent a zip car to the gym if that's convenient for you.
The gym is good and clean. Big and well equipped. Try to avoid peak hours
