I love this gym. The staff here are always so friendly and helpful, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. The classes are great —there’s a big variety to choose from and they are on morning, midday and evening which allows you to pop in at a time that is convenient to you. The instructors are all top-notch, particularly Papa, Neil and Max. They are able to make the classes fun as well as challenging for everyone, regardless of their fitness level. The music is also on point which is a big plus for me as it keeps the energy high. Overall, this gym has everything you need and it’s good vibes all around. The only thing I’d say needs a tweak, is some of the equipment that’s pretty old. Would definitely recommend!
I’ve been going to Fitness First Brixton for two years now, and it’s been an amazing experience! I worked with a personal trainer, Jane, for a year, and she played a huge role in helping me achieve my fitness goals. I’m so happy with my progress and feeling healthier than ever. Jane not only guided me through my journey but also set me up with the skills and confidence to train on my own. The gym has such a welcoming atmosphere, and the team here is incredible. The trainers are always supportive, whether it’s helping with form, spotting, or simply offering encouragement. They’re also great to chat with, making every visit enjoyable. Special shoutouts to Max and Ilaria on the weekday evening team, as well as Papa and Shawn on mornings and weekends—they’re all so motivating and bring so much energy to the gym! Fitness First Brixton also offers excellent classes with easy online booking. The facilities are well-maintained, including the sauna, steam room, and showers. Mary deserves a mention for keeping everything in tip-top shape every day. If you’re looking for a gym with a great vibe, fantastic trainers, and excellent facilities, I highly recommend Fitness First Brixton!
Gyms are a scary place the first time you go… but not when you’re greeted with a smile by Ilaria. She made me feel so welcome and got me set up in seconds. Shout out to Chris too who helped me set up a box jump circuit in the studio. Might be called “Fitness first”but the staff are “first class”. Thank you!
This gym has been fantastic for my recovery! Ilaria, in particular, has been absolutely instrumental in helping me rehab my ACL over the past few months. Her positive attitude, bright smile, endless energy, and eagerness to help me learn how to properly use the machines and do my exercises made a world of difference. I can't thank her enough for her support and expertise. We all need an Ilaria at our gyms!
Fitness First Brixton is a fantastic gym. What really makes this gym special, though, is the friendly and supportive atmosphere created by the staff, especially Ilara and Shawn. Ilara is always welcoming, attentive, and ready to help with any questions or concerns. She genuinely cares about the members, making everyone feel valued and comfortable. Shawn, too, brings a positive energy and is always eager to offer guidance and support. His passion for fitness and approachable nature make a big difference.
This has been my home gym for nearly 3 years now and it offers me everything I need to meet my fitness goals. The best part of my time at the gym has been the staff, who have always been so welcoming, friendly and supportive. They are fundamental to making this branch feel like a community, and are always on hand to offer knowledgable advice about how to improve my training and recovery. Thanks so much to the team.
I walked back into brixton fitness first after 15 years. The only reason I walked back in and signed back up was because of Neil. I'm used to his style of military training in classes and I've not found that in any other gym. The gym itself is very welcoming staff members very lovely. There is always up tempo music playing. The day time classes are very good especially Neil and Maggie classes.
Great gym. Has all the facilities you need. Reception team have a great spirit. Especially Max!
I absolutely love Fitness First in Brixton. I never used to like to go to the gym but this place helped me change my mind and grown mentally and physically. I would definitely recommend it, the staff is brilliant and so welcoming. I m so grateful for this gym, really is a great spot to hang out.. they also providing classes which are so much fun.. In particular I really love Max and Neil classes, the music energy and encouragement is 10/10. They both have great energy I love it. And how not to mention Ilaria, she such a problem solver, she always happy and willing to help. She is great. Can't wait to be back.
Great and friendly staff New manager Chris is amazing!. Lovely gym, good sauna and nice classes on offer.
