I have been a member for almost ten years now and I go almost exclusively for the fitness classes. Although I used to be satisfied with their schedule, I find standards have considerably dropped after the pandemic and still have not picked up more than two years later. Fewer classes, not much variety, very similar in style, while membership price has increased. I remain a member as the location is very convenient but find it hard to enjoy these days. Shame, they used to have some good instructors.
Have joined the gym few days ago. Went to add them on Instagram and it turned out that they are running an offer - £60 for 6 weeks until the 31st of July. The receptionist wasn’t aware of the offer the gym runs as the offer hasn’t been applied to me. When I asked about it a day later they said I’m having pretty much the same offer which isn’t true . Atm I paid £58 for one month and 6 days. With the offer I would get a month and another 2 weeks. £2.00 more and would have gotten 8 days extra. I don’t think it’s a good way to treat new customers. The rating was strictly for not applying the offer that they advertised which was very frustrating. The classes and instructors are amazing and in general it’s a good value as sauna is included too.
As a non-neurotypical person I find lack of clear pricing and transparency on membership very cunning. One has to call them to find out and be subjected to marketing pushing to buy it. Just no - that's dirty tactics praying on vulnerable. Pure Gym few block down and Better Leisure Centre in Vauxhall has pricing clearly displayed so it can be done.
Love the Southbank Club. Great facilities in the gym and the fitness classes are excellent, especially the Yoga and Jumping Frog sessions. Amazing value for money. Great staff and a really diverse mix of clientele. Squash facilities are good and the place is buzzing on squash club nights. Highly recommend.
I've been a squash member at Southbank for over a decade and couldn't recommend it more highly. The squash standard ranges from complete beginners to some of the best club players in London, so it's easy for everyone to slot in at the right level. The club has a great atmosphere, with friendly staff and a welcoming community of players. The squash coaches at Southbank are also very good.
Decent gym. Family owned. Staff is quite friendly and the gym has most of the things you need and isn’t too busy. Great facilities too sauna, steam room. Wish the squash didn’t have a court fee for members. Or at least cheaper fee for the more expensive membership. I end up spending £75 /month after all the fees which is on the high side considering the facilities.
Went here for squash. Rooms could do with a little refreshing/fixing as the air vent eats squash-balls. Overall experience very positive.
Was not informed there is a cancellation fee for the Squash court, I’ve not agreed to any terms and conditions and called to book so there isn’t any way this fee was hidden in small print
Love this gym, great facilities in an converted cinema. Never any issues to share equipment and a great work ethic from the members which inspires
