Popped in for lunch..... We sat in the garden, in the glorious sunshine and ordered a mix of small plates along with a cocktail pitcher. The food arrived all together and was piping hot. The salted beef Bao Buns were to die for as were the burger sliders. At 5 for £20, It was really good value! The pina colada was well made, really tasty and not too overpowering of alcohol....perfect! Really enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you so much!
Althou they didn't have everything on the menu the selection of food was still very good. The place had a feel of open space but has a lot of character. The staff were very polite and constantly checking to see if we were happy with the food. They were busy when we visited but we didn't have to wait long for our food. The drinks were expensive but the food prices were very reasonable and good quality. If I had one gripe about the food is that the size of the portion was a little small. We will definitely going back as it had a very nice atmosphere.
After Gordon arms was a let down we have decided to pop into Woodman. Great choice , pub was very nice clean , all staff were great supervisor team leader was very helpful. Food was delicious. Amazing service .
We had our Christmas party here. The food was delicious. Served hot and quickly. The atmosphere was great and the staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. All very friendly and cheerful. Love that it’s dog friendly, will definitely be back.
We had a lovely evening here on Saturday. The staff are great, really helpful and friendly. There is enough staff on so you don’t have to wait at the bar long. We ended up ordering the small plates, 5 for £20 and we felt they were really good value for a great variety of different things. The food was lovely we’re excited to return for a full meal soon. Drinks were really good, great attention to detail and also some cracking deals on. If you like gin, this is your place they have a whole menu for it! Also, they do pitchers which are also great value! I’d just like to thank the young lady that made our pitcher Long Island iced tea because they were delicious and made the proper way, on the spot with the proper stuff - no pre mixer! The place is modern and tidy with a great atmosphere, clean toilets, big outsider area overlooking a golf course and a children’s play area too. We’re really pleased we went and we’ll be going back. To all of the staff, you’re doing a great job and thank you for making sure we had a lovely time! 10/10
Staff friendly, good selection of food choices and beers etc. But Sunday roasts are a bit bland and small portion sizes. I had the three roast meat selection which was a slice of turkey, slice of pork and thought I was getting a slice of beef or something but the other piece of meat was a small chipolata sausage! Came with a couple of spoonfuls of mash, one small piece of brocoli, half a chopped carrot and a spoonful of cabbage plus a large dry Yorkshire pud, oh yeh and 4 small roast potatoes, so glad I ordered the side dish of roast potatoes as well. On the other hand my wife had the special cod and chips Not to be confused with cheaper version of the same cod and chips and she got scampi, peas, 2 rounds of bread and butter average size piece of cod and a lot of chips, her portion wasb actually for an adult!! Would go back, but would not choose anything from Sunday Roast meal choices. Veg is the cheapest part of most meals and it's the bit they scrimp on, makes no sense.
We had a family gathering of 15 adults. Considering we didn't place a pre order, all our meals came out at the same time!! The lady apologies i have forgotten her name who took our orders and served us was very helpful and professional. The Manager Carol was also very professional and helpful. Both checked on us regularly to make sure all was OK and if we needed anything. All very impressed and will definitely will be back.
Food was excellent. Had the 5 mini dishes for £20.00 all came hot, in good time and were delicious. Service, although good, could have been much better. This is no slight on the lady who was serving on the day we visited, just that she appeared to be dealing with everything all by herself. Credit to her, but just one extra person would have made a big difference. Big plus point is they're dog friendly. Toilets were disgusting. One overflowing urinal and cubical was filthy. Made a possible 5* an average 3* Visited Monday 3rd October.
Came for a nice family dinner. Waited at the bar for almost 15 minutes to be served. The bartender could see us and decided to ignore us and take someone else's order and referred to it as a second job. Very poor customer service and not welcoming at all. I will not be returning to eat here.
The Woodman in Thorpe Wood Peterborough is a traditional country pub that serves good quality food and real ales. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, with an open fire to welcome you. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the menu offers a great selection of dishes. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. The pub also has a golf course adjacent to it, making it a great place for a round of golf followed by some delicious food and drinks.
