Stayed at the grange hotel through work reasons . Well , what can I say . Stayed for three nights , greeted on arrival and shown my room . Location is just perfect . Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Now , we get to the food …. Absolute dining experience, fantastic from the steak Which was cooked to perfection, chicken pie which was homemade and gorgeous and don’t even get me started on the curry Fabulous Hosts were amazing , nothing too much trouble . 10/10 .
I stopped at the Grange Hotel midweek for one night. I was warmly greeted, booked in and showed to my room, which was in an annex of the main building. The room was exceptionally clean, but in need of a number of repairs. There was a hole in the bathroom door, the seal on the shower screen was hanging off, the tiles were cracked on the bathroom floor and the shower fixtures need replacing. I ate my evening meal and breakfast in hotel. I couldn’t fault the quality or taste. There was a mix up on my bill where I had been wrongly charged for a drink, but this was rectified without issue. Overall, for a business one night stay it was ok but I’d be disappointed if I was stopping for a paid break.
No where near worth the price. Poorly maintained, historic property. Wonderful old building, but the rooms were dilapidated. Shower just barely warm, poor low pressure and inappropriate shower head makes it worse. Breakfast was chaotic, we had booked for 8am but served 20 mins late, single waitress running around table, asking room numbers repeatedly at random, without any introduction. Food was awful especially the scrambled egg, tasted like it came from powder. Very disappointing considering the price paid.
It’s such a cosy and spacious house! We arrived around 10pm and the owner opened the bar so we could still have a drink even though they close at 8pm. Everything is clean and nicely decorated. The owner is so so kind and everything he does is done with such care. We all 4 people had an English breakfast and they were all soo tasty : The shower also has a lot of power so for those with thick hair it’s perfect
I love staying here, the owners cannot do enough for you and the food is not only top quality but there is plenty of it. Very reasonably priced, especially out of season. Surrounded by wonderful countryside and historic towns.
Terrible staff, not welcoming at all. Made to feel like we was an inconvenience when checking in. No information given about anything. Couldnt have evening meal as was informed the chef was too busy. Room was ok but very datedRooms: 3/5
Beautiful elegant great breakfast and a lovely place to stay for a quiet retreat or get away. The price was reasonable and the atmosphere was just perfect. Was not serving evening meals at the time so do check, if not there are pubs nearby. Would happily go again and reccomend
I was looking forward to staying here by the photos I had seen on Web site. When I arrived it was nothing like the pictures. It oozed run down. Never the less I was hopeful that inside was better. That was the same. First reception toilets was horrible with stains in the toilet. I checked in and was asked for my card details. When my room was paid for. They said £20 pre charge if they find the room in a mess. I was reluctant. I said that was a first. Nevertheless I complied as I was tiered. I was then shown to my room. That was dated and dirty. I had found dust behind TV. Microwave dirty shower that had stains in leather chair that was brown when I wiped it. Dead wasps in the light fitting by the bed side. When I went to report my findings staff was very rude. They said if you don't like it you can leave. Not good when paying £91.00 for a room. I packed my things and left Checked in to a travelodge with the room being immaculate and great service. I would not waste your time or money booking this hotel. I've stayed in many manner hotels and this I'd the far worse.
What a lovely place, only found it using red letter afternoon tea gift but loved it and will definitely visit again. I think the before and after pics say it all.Service: 5/5
Was going to stay but when I called the person on the phone was rude to me after asking if bar and restaurant were still open at 9pm to told no people only come to sleep So no recommendations for anyone to visit I certainly won't stay there ever
