A beautiful Grade 1 listed Country House Hotel nestled in 175 acres of rolling Suffolk countryside. The estate is approached by an impressive tree-lined drive giving access to the Hotel and restaurant, the heli pad and the associated championship golf course.

The Hotel is located in the village of Hintlesham, four miles south of Ipswich where the A12 and A14 trunk roads meet.

The Hall is very attractive and our room was spacious and well-provided for. The bed was OK, but the duvet was way too hot and we had to ask for a fan for the second night, which helped. This was in deep winter too, so I wonder if a lighter duvet or sheets and blankets might be better. The bathroom was OK, but the open door shower meant that the rest of the bathroom also got very wet if you took a shower. This was exacerbated by the way the water came out of the shower head, which was effectively in all directions. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and both had the steak, which was largely fine, but the sauce was rather too salty. On the second night we ate from the Lounge menu and had a nice meal of Green Thai Curry and the burger, both of which were excellent. Breakfast was OK, though it was a pity you do not offer an omelette. The service was excellent throughout from all concerned. Overall, it was a good stay, though some of the little details need attention to make it excellent.

We went here for a wedding staying overnight the night prior to the wedding and the wedding night as well. The food the night before was mediocre and the service very slow. The furniture in the private dining room was tatty and we had to push the stud trim down on the chair as it was sticking out. The tiling in our bathroom had been repaired by the towel radiator and were uneven and pencil marks were still on the tiles. Thankfully the wedding day was greatly improved . The food was much better than the previous evening and everything ran smoothly. I personally don't think that this hotel is worth the premium you pay for it.

We had a wonderful 4 days. Very relaxing, great food, attentive and helpful staff throughout our stay, particularly in the food and beverage and reception. Standard of cleanliness is exceptional and nothing was too much trouble to ensure we had a memorable stay. We have booked our Christmas 2018 stay, but will be returning for other breaks during the year. Thank you.

We were welcomed with a smile and immediately felt comfortable and relaxed. Room was very large by hotel standards, but needs a little freshening up as to the decor. Attention was needed to the hand shower which was so powerful, it became a wrestling match to keep it under control. The food was exceptionally good, attractively presented and served by very friendly and professional staff. The log fires in the library and lounges revived that 'old world' feeling typical of the era the house is from. All in all our stay was enjoyable and we will have no hesitation in recommending others to sample the experience.

What a splendid hotel set in some beautiful grounds. All the staff we encountered were really friendly and made us feel so welcome. I would highly recommend.
