Second visit was as good as the first. Great staff and food. Everyone was super friendly and quite helpful. The outdoor seating was nicely populated because it was an actual cool night and the patio was perfectly shaded around 630. The tenders and burgers are the way to go. So far I've had the tenders fried and grilled and both ways are delicious! Also the cauliflower wings are quite outstanding as well. *Update Went in yesterday for lunch and not only was it as good as I remembered but Sarah took care of me so well that the goose is in my top 5 of lunch spots !
Before the Cake show, we walked down to The Goose for burgers. Of the four of us, it was 50/50 - two of us liked our burgers and two said they were just OK; kinda dry. The fries were sub par across the board. It's bar service and the staff were calm and efficient even when things started cranking. Our drinks were good and everything came out quickly. Our server was very friendly and helpful as well. The interior is pretty cramped for me and gets loud when people start filling the place. The patio is better, but I think that's just the vibe of the place and some people will like it. Overall I like the Goose and it definitely has its place in Avondale.
Tried this place out weekend of Halloween . Wasn’t crowded at all . Location and decor was chill. I can tell parking may be an issue if they are extremely busy . Our server did her job . That’s the most I can say . However her coworkers were really good and even checked on my date and I from time to time. I ordered a lemon drop from their list of drink specials . It didn’t have shot next to it like the other drinks. She didn’t ask nor inform me that it was in shot form I wanted a martini but it was really good . The food was really tasty ! I had the Greek salad but switch the dressing . My date had the hot honey wings and some type of sandwich that was divine ! EVERYTHING was delicious . Definitely will be back .
A great lunch/dinner. I finally made it here to The Goose after it being recommend to me multiple times. Nothing and I mean nothing we had here was bad it was absolutely freaking delicious. Hands down 10 out of 10 guys CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! So glad I ended my birthday here! I will be returning asap you will not be disappointed and if you are you're lying lol. I have zero complaints. Food order: The Goose BHM Korean BBQ wings Lemon Pepper wings Queso Salsa Black Bean Salsa Polish Sausage and peppers Chicken fingers Smash burger sorry no picture Tater Tots
My goodness, my guy had told me independent sports bars were dead. Not so! The people, the food, the place all fantastic. I wish I could buy the produce these guys get. We will be back!Food: 5/5
The chicken tenders are my standard go to for quick easy lunch spot. Outdoor space with fans and TVs is really nice for days that can accommodate outdoors.Food: 4/5
Nice little neighborhood sports bar. Friendly staff and even changed one TV so I could watch my team play! Parking: Free parking in the lot or some free street parking.
I like the location and size of the pub. The food is not so great in my opinion, but if you had a few beers I could see where the chicken fingers would be "out of this world". The fried food was heavily coated in old oil, so it made us feel sick after.Food: 2/5
Nice! An elevated dive bar with plenty of service industry customers and relaxed, fast, and friendly staff. The menu offers several inviting looking, vegetarian, although deep-fried, appetizers and several sandwiches. The only vegetarian sandwich, the Herbivore, consists of two slices of tomato, two slices of mozzarella, and two leaves of basil on a hoagie roll and comes with fries. The sandwich looked a bit simple not to say frugal but ended up being tasty and moist. The classic fries were good and I enjoyed my meal. Expanding their draft beer selection only one so far and adding more vegetarian or more lusciously stacked sandwiches will earn them the 5th star.
We went here because of all the good reviews but unfortunately the food did not meet my expectations. I had the chicken kabobs with rice and carrot sticks to eat with bbq sauce and another white cream they bring out with it. The chicken and veggies on the kabobs was a good flavor and texture. The rice was hard to chew and stuck in my teeth so I didn’t end up eating it. The BBQ sauce tasted either like they put cinnamon in it or a floral flavor of some kind that I didn’t enjoy. The cream with the chicken was flavorless except for it being hot as in spicy. I was thankful that they cut the carrot sticks in half for me and ended up eating them with the ranch which I don’t normally like ranch but it was better than any of the other sauces. The atmosphere outside was fun but it was not that exciting on the inside where we ate. It also seemed like we over paid for the amount of food we got.
