This is a very stereotypical British pub . Old Red nose men sat in the corner that haven't seen a bar of soap in a while. Mutton dressed as lamb cruising the bar for a free drink. Dirty glasses, and sticky floors, and garden benches that look like a strong breeze will take them out . But the sun demanded a beer garden so the Highbury it had to be. Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids running around the bar. And there a big climbing frame in the garden
We do the Monthly quiz here ran by Rob and Andy and love it every time. Good questions and atmosphere of other teams. Love it Food: 5/5
I find this a cracking old skool style pub, staff are really friendly beers are always good, cold bottles etc. Good Jukebox and a pool table which is quite popular, landlords Debs and Simon are friendly and approachable but no nonsense people...Service: 4/5
staff were nice, didnt eat there but im guessing the food is good considering the quality of the drinks, the atmosphere was nice however it was quite crowded at the event i attented, leaving little room to sit and dance, still a good experience overall though!Food: 5/5
Really nice quiet pub. Limited menu but food is nice and cooked perfectly. We were served by Anne who is a lovely friendly lady. Nice old traditional decor and very clean too. I'd not been down for about 8 years so was surprised the little horse had gone but the beer garden is really nicely done now. Gutted it's unavailable for my sisters funeral as it was her local and can be seen from her house.. Its also the last place we danced together in!! Definitely will be returning.. Thanks Anne for being very nice and attentive!!
Sadly, the pub wasn't busy on a Thursday lunchtime when we visited but the female bartender made us welcome. We had a burger from a limited but popular menu and a drink at a very reasonable price. The food cooked by the bartender was nicely cooked and tasted good.
A very large old pub with very friendly staff and customers. On the beer side they had Doombar and Tribute on hand pump which are not favourites of mine and personally I would say are a biy similar so some variety would be nice. Very spacious pub with a good pool table that takes card payments which is a great idea. Certainly worth a visit.
Great pub, free function room, lovely food.
Staff & management are always friendly. Great size function room for all occasions with doors opening onto the garden area with seating. It has a nice atmosphere & is always clean . I look forward to many more good night there. Marie.
Very friendly, helpful and efficient barmen, signage could be made clearer for returning to the bar to ensure social distancing. Managing people who disregard social distancing by moving outside tables together for example dealt with politely and assertively by staff members, increasing trust to go there again. Impressed with how pub is coping in currdnt restrictive circumstances. Lovely beer & great chips! Thanks.
