We went in for the food in the garden and wow it was amazing. The burgers are juicy and flavoursome and the fires are incredible ! The staff are friendly in the pub too and they have a good choice of drinks. The interior is stunning as they have restored a lot of the 1920’s features of the pub. It was friendly and the atmosphere was good with plenty of seating inside and out !
Huge community pub and I mean huge. It's full of character and characters. Massive outside area which caters for everyone. Original Patty Men serve food to the rear and it's fantastic food at incredible value. Kudos to all who run this place. Don't be put off by first impressions!!
What an amazing pub! Huge place with an even bigger outdoor seating area that joins onto the bowling green behind the venue. Super attentive staff and we also felt the need to partake in some chow from the Original Patty Men that were onsite. Fries were damned delicious and very reasonably priced. We only popped into this place as we were partaking in the BrimBrewFest which this pub was not actually part of. However, we liked it so much, we popped back again once we had ticked off the other pubs we needed to visit in the area. It was THAT good! Highly recommended!
Absolute gem, we have driven past this for so many years. I never knew about it until we fancied a Sunday roast and did some research. We will be coming back, absolutely gorgeous Sunday roast. Everyone was happy. Thank you so much. Our waiter was great, the food came out in good time and was lovely and warm. My wife was happy with the vegetarian option, she said it was the best ever! Very well priced! Won’t go anywhere else when we are in the neighbourhood. Thank you
Old school styled pub which is still a survivor with its 1930s brickwork - Not many like this left in Brum! Great atmosphere inside & out,Quick service at the bar & the little cocktail bar in the grounds, Large screen in the grounds too for sports events. Good selection of beers including Blue Moon! Would definitely visit again.
Only been once on a week night so can't really give a proper review. I was very surprised when I went in the rear garden it was quite impressive. They had the biggest video TV screen I've ever seen in my life. Could be very good if they have football onService: 4/5
Great go to for drinks, snacks and atmosphere. Friendly staff, fun crowds of families and friends. Really love the raspberry white russian since my first time coming here. Lovely in the summerFood: 4/5
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! I love this place!!! Such friendly staff and amazing food from OPM. If you’re looking for a friendly fun pub this is the place! Great social setting and outdoor area. Plus dog friendlyFood: 5/5
The garden is still love, with green views towards the river. They have a lot of music events and serve food and cocktails. I did eat here a few years ago and it was fine. They've since changed the menu. The pub itself is lovely but the toilets are dingy and horrible and I would never come on a busy night. They need a new toilet block but they've done a lovely, respectful job redoing the rest of the rooms, in keeping with the Victorian splendour.
I don't know why I had the urge to sing hearts of oak are our men... this is another pub I wish was my local. Timothy Taylor Landlord on hand pull, big screen tv for big matches, food, wood burner, barbecue loads of charitable functions throughout the year for families. Overall an impressive hostlery
