A Must Try - excellent Indian- Thai restaurant at the capital of Highlands- The Inverness!! We are vegetarians, when I ordered a dish over phone, they checked my dietary habits and suggested another dish as an alternative. *Wonderful food-just perfect in taste *Perfect in time *No delay *Wonderful ambience *Great Hospitality *Looking forward to dine in next time!
Pros: - food was fresh and tasty - staff were friendly and sweet - variety of dishes on menu Cons: - ambience wasn’t the best - wasn’t worth the money - service was slow
Have had many Indian takeaways and always found the food top notch. However placed an order at 1711 sat 4/2/23.was told delivery would take an hour as were very busy. Phoned at 1853 and was told was on its way. Finally arrived at 1920. Food was Luke warm poppadoms were like shrapnel,so obviously had a rough journey. Will not be ordering from George's again and am very disappointed at how the service has fallen to this level.
Gorgeous food and excellent service. Have heard about George's and all has been good. So got to choose our dinner out and chose here . Absolutely delicious. Setting was very nice too , felt very clean and actually quite romanticFood: 5/5
We tried a few curry joints in town, all trying too hard, too expensive and rubbish food. Then we stumbled across George’s we came two nights on the trot. Not busy, should be food was awsome, good value, tasty, service was great. Dosa’s were bang on..! Don’t be put off by going down the stairs, go in and get stuck in. George is a friendly bloke, authentic food without the glamour. Vegetarian options: Very good
A hidden gem. The special fried rice and Tom yum goong taste nice at a reasonable price
Not a good experience. I ordered via JustEat, which advertised a 20 min pickup time, but the restaurant changed it to 40 min when they accepted, and I had to wait 10 additional minutes when I arrived. The food was disappointing. I ordered all vegetarian Indian options, and the chana masala was completely flavorless, the tarka dal was half grease, and the sambar was just gross. The one exception was the idli, which a delight to find on a menu and were absolutely delicious. Maybe this place is hit or miss, but I wouldn’t recommend based on my experience. Also heads up that it’s in a basement and I couldn’t get cell reception.
In Inverness you want South Indian and North just hit on George je cooks so delicious food it has nice environment down the floor he cooks one if the best Indian foods in the area in the city centre really give a try You will get almost all kind of Indian dishes with that Indian touch thanks to chef George who is owner himself even!!Food: 5/5
Thai food lovers as we are, we hoped for a delicious meal. But the Thai fish cakes were spungy, not freshly fried, but probably from the microwave Thai spring rolls were pale and way too spicy, not at all like Thai food should be. After the first try of each starter, we didn't dare to go for the main course. We paid and left the restaurant.
The staff here are friendly and the atmosphere is happily noisy. The customers were mainly South Asian families when I visited, adding to the homely atmosphere. The Thai food, however, was not very Thai, and was more Indian in flavour. My fried rice was extremely peppery, which is not a flavour typically associated with Thai fried rice. This might be because we visited on a day that the Thai chef wasn't working. So the food was good, just not as expected.
