We stayed for 3 nights and must say we cannot fault Angela on anything. The Gateway is clean and it's pleasant atmosphere makes it feel like home. I recently moved from South Africa to the UK, needless to say I'm permanently cold . Angela made sure that the central heating was on all through the night to accommodate me. The breakfast is yummy. A job well done Angela. I will definitely stay at the Gateway again.

My partner and I visit frequently as we live in New Zealand but love the Lakes. The house is beautiful, staff are very friendly and the breakfast is amazing. Bubble the dog is also an additional bonus. Would suggest this B & B to anyone!

The Gateway at Hestbank is a beautiful family run BnB with 5* service. The spacious rooms have stunning views either accross the bay or looking over the canals. Angela’s traditional English breakfast is appetising and aplenty, which can be enjoyed in the comfortable dining room.The BnB is in a perfect location a short stroll to the Hest Bank pub and the gateway to the Lake District. Thanks Angela and bubbles for a wonderful stay, we will be returning very soon.

Very friendly welcome. Room really nice. Will definitely come again, especially as it's right round the corner from the inlaw, and I've been looming for somewhere nicer to stay. :-)
