We are new to the area so trying different places. And this place is now at the top.nWow got to be one of the best if not the best roast we’ve had!! We were a party of 3 all with a different meat and the attention to detail with the accompanying sauce lamb/mint, beef/horseradish, turkey/cranberrynI thought was lovely no need to ask for anything extranReally big portions but that tasty you want to finish it!nI think the price reflects the quality and portions.nBeen twice in one week so safe to say will be our go to place.nThe beer garden looked fantastic can’t wait to try that out.nLovely staff and even do cocktails which is a big plus to me!!nThank you to all at the royal and Will be back soon
We stayed the night here after having dinner at the restaurant. Dinner was fine, starters were tasty with room for improvement. The Sunday roast was good for most part, beef was advertised as pink but came closer to grey, the turkey was quite dry. Otherwise bits tasted good, the drinks were nice and good beers on tap. Staff very lovely and warm making the overall experience enjoyable.
Four of us had a lovely meal at the Royal Hotel. There is a good menu with a wide selection of foods.nWe won’t be going back though.the service was very bad when we arrived we were told that our table wasn’t ready as we were early. 7;25 for a 7:30 booking. The table when we got it wasn’t laid and the waitress dumped the cutlery on the table in a heap. We had to wait 1 hour 40 minutes for our main course to be served. This was a hour after the starter. When I asked if we’d been forgotten about the waitress was very impolite. We only stayed as the alternative was going to a fast food place or cooking at home. Such a shame as the front of house really let down the kitchen.
Had breakfast here October 2024. It was fantastic. Everything was perfectly cooked, food was great quality and came out nice and hot. Service was also excellent. Thoroughly recommended
Ordered a takeaway last night for the first time and was very impressed! Food very well priced, it was delivered within 40 minutes and the food was delicious and good portions!! Will definitely be back.
