Typical nice pub interior. Good drink variety, reasonable prices. Free Entertainment female vocalist good. Enjoyable time. Always clean & tidy inside. Forgot this earlier ! Sorry ! Staff friendly. Decent clientele.. Nice outside area / decking/ beer garden to to rear of pub Ample free parking.
Would like to thank Mudfords for doing an amazing job with the marquee. Mandy Palmer for doing the best buffet I’ve ever seen. Russ Brett for the great job of entertaining my guests plus family and Cathy at the Gate and her amazing bar staff who made sure everything ran smooth I had an amazing birthday and if I was to have another function I certainly would use The Gate again. Highly recommend this place for any social events.
We stopped over in a motor home. Lovely welcome by staff and landlords. Great beer. No food served but they provided takeaway menus and plates for us to eat our delivered curry in the bar. Will be back
Lovely traditional pub. We drop in maybe 5-6 times a year when visiting family in the area, and the owners and staff always recognise us and give us a friendly welcome.
We used the Gate Inn to have my husband's celebrationof life. The food they put on was lovely great atmosphere very friendly staff and land lady. Thank you for making a hard day turn into a very pleasant one.
Couldn’t of picked a better place to have my mums 60th birthday party! Their garden was a perfect place for the marquee and it looked amazing!! Cant thank the staff enough for looking after over 100 people all night keeping their drinks full if your looking for somewhere to host your party/function then the gate is the one once again Thank you!
Thank you so much for the beautiful buffet yesterday for my dads funeral. Everyone commented on how good it was, Cathy catered for everyone’s dietary needs, making dairy free scone’s so no was excluded from the beautiful spread

Went to a 60th birthday party and it was amazing there was a marquee in the gardens by Mudfords and it was beautiful. The food was amazing catered by Mandy Cooper and the bar staff were brilliant every single one of them couldn’t do enough for you. The whole evening ran brilliant. Thankyou Cathy for hosting the party at your establishment.
Great local pub with a great atmosphere, now having live acts as well, Cathy and Corky the owners are two of the nicest people you could meet
