Story

Opened in 2009 by Mike Caplan & Sandie Guppy, we offer affordable freshly cooked, local and seasonal food with an amazing location and view.
We also display and sell art, hold events with guest chefs including vegetarian days.
We own and run the Fig Tree, so we care about you and your experience. Also available for private events

Excellent venue - sought out following Good Food Guide recommendation. Food was lovely, and with a nice day sitting outside is extremely nice with a good view out onto the sea. The menu isn't too extravagant which is a good thing and makes sense to go for fish options. My only slight issue is when sitting outside people often walk up through the seating area thinking its public toilets and one visit the service was good but a bit on the slow side but otherwise no complaints.

My partner and I went here on Valentine's day and it was the perfect venue for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. We were made to feel welcome by the very attentive staff, we thoroughly enjoyed our food which was beautifully presented and delicious, and we very much enjoyed the music that was being played at just the right volume. We would definitely recommend The Fig Tree to others and visit there again to try more of the menu!

Good Dining Experience If you are looking for a large choice menu, you are likely served best - elsewhere. What I can say is that while the menu is 'compact ' the quality and quantity of food served, is up there with the best of them. Good portions of food very well cooked - all brought to the table as you would want I.e. HOT and without protracted waiting between courses. Served by two waitresses, who were both cheerful and efficiency in carnate. Re that compact menu - if you fancy a chicken dish for example - you won't get one here - beef, lamb, pork and some fish dishes are on offer however. My wife and I had rib eye steak and this and it's accompaniments were excellent.

Lovely location looking out onto the sea. We had five roasts, each of us trying a different option and all were substantial and delicious. The desserts were also outstanding. Great drinks menu, including soft drinks, which makes a pleasant change for the non-drinkers. Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere.
