Booked for Sunday lunch. Enjoyable. Relaxed family and dog friendly vibe without chaos. Just nice. Good beers and good choice of standards on the menu. Would have got 5 stars except no Yorkshire pudding on the day we had Sunday roast. Cardinal sin...but would happily return. Main meal for two plus 3 drinks and shared pudding about £70.
Great spot for lunch on a sunny afternoon! We were greeted by Kat at the bar who made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in! And walked us through the new lunch menu!!! She especially looked after my pup Athena with treats on hand - she even brought us a bowl of iced water to keep her cool in the beer garden Thanks so much
Lovely pub, and the staff very friendly. I've been here a lot to have a drink with my partner and this time we tried the food. Sadly, we were very disappointed. My partner had the beef roast and it was a small portion for the price. I have the veggie roast - it was cold when it came and they'd not bothered to make a veggie gravy, so everything was really dry. I sent it back and got a vegan burger instead, which to be honest wasn't much better. Seems as thought the chef can't be arsed with veggie options, which is a surprise in this day and age. The couple who were sitting opposite us were also eating and had fish and chips. The fish had been fried to within an inch of it's life and was very dry. The lovely servers gave me a free glass of wine as I had to wait so long, which was very nice of them. Great pub, just overall a let down with the food.
This is an excellent choice for lunch when visiting The Oval to watch cricket. Service is prompt so one can get back to the ground in reasonable time if one wants to!. We had the burger, which was very good.Food: 5/5
Recently went to the Fentimans Arms for lunch, I had the burger and my husband had the sausage and mash - both were delicious! The service was great and the pub had a really good atmosphere. We were served by the manager who made us feel really welcome. We sat inside as it was freezing but we can’t wait to enjoy the outside seating when it warms up. We’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend!
This was our second time here & honestly we wouldn’t come back after this experience. When we arrived i spoke to a young man very nice we had a reservation - then i was directed to a manager. When we approached them there was about 6 staff members stood in front of us and we once again mentioned we had a booking and the reception was very unwelcoming There was no service however we still got charged service charge. We ordered 1 pork Sunday roast pork was okay but the potatoes were overly cooked that you couldn’t cut into them 1 kids sausage & chips chips were extremely over cooked 1 chicken burger & buffalo wings - both very acidic taste where you the flavour was no longer there The toilets had residue of a white substance that looked like a class A Drug Nobody checked back on us when we got our meals , couldn’t tell who was staff or customer. It’s a shame because we came there for the first time a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it hence why we came back but this wasn’t an enjoyable experience especially since we spent over £75+ for 2 adults & 1 child. 2 apple juices & 1 coke
A very nice beer garden. Booking in advance is highly recommended as this is a really nice place. The outdoor seating is very good, with floral decorations and amazing lighting. There is an overhead covering so it is also perfect for a rainy day. The food here is good. The fries are especially good. The burger is average but we came here for the environment but not the food so we think it is acceptable. Good service and reasonable price.
The food is always great.. I was there yesterday for lunch and diner.. I have spent 200£ in the day and I believe the staff could be a little bit friendlier… at lunch; it was a business related meeting with two members of staff of my company the bar-woman was on her own behind the bar but it wasn’t that busy and it was difficult to just get a friendly smile and basic customer service attention.. it seems that I was more of a disturbing burden that anything else… But once more the food was excellent ! And I went back in the evening.. with another on the edge of no returning experience, where the barman this time was actually very rude.. and got confused with the wine we have ordered and telling us it was actually our fault.. where it wasn’t ! The manager there had to change it for us, after she realised it was the barman’s mistake ! I would strongly advise management/owner to review the staff behaviour.. as this is not adhering with the atmosphere and great food that the pub provides. Thank you
Hosted a micro wedding reception here and staff were helpful, kind and very accommodating of our party. We had a blast and everyone complemented the sharing boards, especially the fish and chicken wings. Highly recommend - very worth a visit!Food: 5/5
Hannah was an incredible host. We came her before the cricket. The atmosphere was wonderful. To be alive here was very heaven.
