Overall good. Got a good glass of rosé for £5 and sticky toffee pudding for £6. They fed us some free Yorkshire puddings midway through the match. Staff were attentive and polite. Environment is good and they got a big beer garden. They do not display the prices of their pints and half pints. Recommendation: Show the prices of your pints and half pints.
Dropped in on Sunday did not know what to expect, but you are transported to a lovely warm quintessential British lounge. Great atmosphere. I did have any food but it looked great. Will definitely try next time I go.Food: 4/5
Genuinely nasty food, burnt and dry..., cook ain't up to it, horrid... Picture is of the aftermath of repulsive, uneatable Yorkshire puddings..., proof in the pictures, undeniable. Given both of those were beef and Yorkshire pudding Sunday roasts, how can they justify this horrid stuff. Also noted, sausage rolls on bar uncovered to buy, watch out for feces and urine or fly eggs... Yuck. It's not as advertised and in these times where anything cooked for you is a treat you would have felt really mugged off, Pete please investigate and sort this out this does you no favours and frankly in Penge the only real other place is the Bridge House tavern, that has way more trade than you but produces an eatable Sunday roast slightly more expensive, but eatable and tasty.
Booked a private room for a kid's birthday party and the staff were so helpful! Great communication via emails from the very beginning and great service during the party. They even called to check if we would like to move to the garden as the weather turned sunny. Great food, generous portions, family friendly atmosphere. Thank you guys!
Good food, especially the Roast massive portion. The staff are very polite. The place is homely looking, great for families, with kids or doggies and book lovers.Food: 5/5
We hired the function room in the pub for free! for a 40th birthday party on a Saturday. The Saturday in question was quite busy with several other celebrations going on in the pub at the same time. But if anything this just added to the wonderfulness of the day and created an amazing atmosphere. Please pass on my thanks to the D Day celebration organisers. The kids thought the 'olden day toys' and 'weighing the food' was fantastic! The room itself was a perfect space and kids were welcome until 8:30pm which was great. Jordan and Ryan and all the other staff were fantastic making sure everything was okay and running smoothly. Despite the busyness the amazing buffet that Jordan had helped arrange for us the week before came out on time and was lovely. I highly reccomend the potato cake!! And we also had use of a screen where we were able to set up a games console. Overall a really fantastic day in an incredibly family friendly pub! Thank you Jordan and Ryan for being so helpful and making sure the day went well!!!
Thanks for such a great service. Absolutely fantastic food and the staff are just so friendly. It has a lovely chilled atmosphere that livens up at the weekends. Open mic nights are great and they welcome dogs and have a huge beer garden.
Recommended for late bookings and walk in. Sunday lunch was phenomenal. We got 3 of the 4 roasts including the veggie wellington. Kids meals were quite big as well. Deserts were scrumptious. Neck oil and Lagonitas on tap is great as well. Worth every penny.
Superb pub ideal for families. Amazing Sunday lunch with very generous portions. Extremely efficient and friendly staff. Highly recommended!Food: 5/5
Probably one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve ever had! Food was incredible and too much to eat so we took some home! Staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Excellent experience from start to finish.Food: 5/5
