Looks alright from the outside, ok parking and nice location. Rooms are ok, very dated, the lamps above the bed did not work, hence room was very dark, and the fan was clearly on its way out.... Sink in bathroom continually blocked when running water, curtains were torn and threadbare. Our overall stay was less than great. It felt like arriving at a place where only locals are welcome, rather fake smiles and overall, we felt rather uncomfortable there, as if our movements were continually being watched from the sidelines. In the evening, we asked for some ice from the bar which appeared closed to be told, after going through the motions, that there was no ice. MMMM... Upon checking out the following morning, we obviously had to take our bags out to the car before dropping the key back - i looked up whilst packing the car and noticed one of the staff members had come outside peeking round the corner at us. It's not like we were going to take the key, so not sure why this was necessary. Didn't mention anything when dropping back the key about all the above, given all the above. Would definitely not go back, as to be honest did not feel welcome at all.
Ok, this is NOT a 5 Star establishment, however, it was as good, if not better than expected and definitely more than £71.10p including a Full continental and English breakfast cooked fresh to order price tag reflected.
The hotel is a nice place with friendly staff. Breakfast would have been better if they had told us that the butter & juice etc were on another table at the other end of the restaurant. Our view was blocked so we only saw them when we left. The room was clean, the bed was ok and the shower was good but the heat in the room was too much and the radiator was off! We had the fan on, all night and it's winter!
Stayed one night for business in early May 2023. Very hard to find budget options in the area and this hotel was fairly priced with a breakfast included. Bit of a way out of town but great for airport and associated business. Friendly staff on check-in and was all smooth on arrival. They have parking but I came by foot having travelled by train beware it's a 20 min walk. Room was up stairs and sadly no sign of a lift. Room was tired in terms of decor and furnishings but it was tidy and very clean and it was perfectly good for a stop over.nThe shower was disappointing and took a while to get up to heat in the morning and not the most powerful. However I used the bath that night and it was good. Reasonable selection of toiletries. Breakfast was very good though egg choice was limited to scrabbled. Table service was great and no complaints. Would rate higher if they had evening meals available and if the rooms were updated but would give an overall recommendation for a stay for the price paid
