Definitely not the worst Travelodge as others are writing. Try the Reading branch first.nThe only downside is the smell from downstairs -canteen and the pub.nApart from this, excellent service from receptionists.nEspecially from Priti who provided excellent customer service which made me feel I’m in the premium hotel.
Lovely clean hotel ... lovely customer service on reception desk. Good price for our stay but I think that £20 extra for the dog to stay was a bit much . .
This is by far the worst Travel lodge I have lodged in. Do not go here. And if you want to still try them out. Don't accept a room at the 3rd floor during summer or any time of year that the weather is likely to be warm.nnI was put in the 3rd floor which was very hot/warm. And they knew the rooms on the floor had heat issues yet they gave them out in that condition. The fan was giving out hot air, the window for safety reasons was only open less than a quarter way. Got down the reception for them to at least open the windows fully for proper ventilation because I was sweating and suffocating in the room. They are strict to adhere to policies of not opening yet can't make alternative provisions to fix the heat issues they know their room at the top most floor has.nnThe staff has been indoctrinated into giving a response of 'it is a low budget hotel' so they can't have air-conditioning. Any issues with the hotel you complain about. That's the response you get. We are a low budget hotel.nnI refused to sleep in the room so I got a 2nd fan which didn't help issues much because it only circulated more hot air around the room.nnThe room is not spacious, the bathroom has no floor mat or towel and is very slippery.nnWhat more annoying is that we had booked months ahead and my colleagues were given rooms at the 1st floor. They said they were full to capacity and didn't have a spare room to change, but why separate our rooms in the 1st place when we all booked the same time and you know that floor was horrible to put someone in. I saw other lodgers by the corridor and downstairs. They were complaining as well.nnThe only good thing about this hotel is that they have a bar/restaurant downstairs and there is a weather spoons right next to it.
Room was clean, staff was helpful, only stayed one night, the only parking is a small public car park £8 for a 24hr ticket, also paid for a double room but had two single beds pushed together, otherwise not bad.
Rooms are a bit tired, but clean and comfy. Staff friendly and central location so easy to get to other places.
