I'm a fan of Amy Winehouse and while visiting London on a WI trip, I went to Camden. I know she performed here many times.nThis pub has a casual vibe. It is quite rundown but the building is old and plenty of people visit this place so maintenance could be challenging. I visited on the 23.11.24 and the ladies toilets were in a horrible state due to being blocked up and needing to be cleaned out. Only one ladies toilet was working, plenty of graffiti and stickers on the wall. The toilets also stank because of being in the basement and no ventilation.nnThe upstairs bar and stage area is smaller than I was expecting.nnI asked about vegan white wine but they didn't have any so I had a rum and coke for £8.80.nnStaff were polite. The gentleman with a Scottish accent was friendly and helpful.
Madness are my favourite band ever so this was such a great treat for me. Bar staff were brilliant. Wish we could have stayed longer but had plans for later.
A little bit off from the pulsating Camden High Street, but in a nice neighbourhood is this ed painted building.nYou enter a pub. When we were there, it was already crowded for a live concert. The venue is in the back of the room, entering by a swing door.nIt has an estimated 200 capacity.nMany famous played here, Madness, Blur, Amy Winehouse,nnIts definitely a place to be.
Lovely little pub away from the crowds in nearby Camden. The boasts many names from pop culture who have graced the stage here,Madness, Amy Winehouse and Billy Bragg just to name a few. Bands play here almost daily from about 1900hrs till late, the staff are really friendly and it's worth popping in, who knows, you might see the next big band playing, would be great to say I saw them before they were famous.
Just tucked away from the hustle of Camden Market area. Definite indie scene, decorated with band posters and hosting new music in the back room. This place is rock and roll history as the birthplace of Madness and been graced by everyone from Blur, through Coldplay, Supergrass, The Killers, The Arctic Monkeys, Billy Bragg, etc.nnThe staff is very attentive and friendly and the owner- Peggy is very kind. The pub is full of charm and fantastic pints Can’t wait to visit again.
