Really liked this venue. The security staff were good. Bar staff weren't great, but that's to be expected. Size and sound were great. Saw Jeff Tweedy there and it was an incredible night.
Islington Assembly Hall in Islington is, among other functions, an excellent music venue, with a capacity of somewhat less than a thousand; most on the floor and others on the balcony. My first and only time here I came away very impressed with the sound system and visual aesthetics of the building and its intimate atmosphere. Outside, there are plenty of food and drink options available for before and after the show. Highly recommended.
My first time in the venue and I loved it. Super easy to get in and out, tube station about a 6 min walk away. Large performance room with a high-up stage so views are good even for shorter people. The bar was well staffed and friendly.
Saw a band here for thee first time and was surprised at how effective the place is.nIt's like an old theatre layout with a first floor. Two small bars either side of the ground floor. Toilets out back. Smooth access through security. Light and sound were well balanced.nEmergency doors for all four corners of the building are opened for ease of exit at the end of the gig.nIt's not a big venue by any means but was organized better than some bigger ones. I'd return again.nThe merch desk is at an awkward place however causing a queue to go around the elevator block and into the main hall.
Really nice music and theatre venue in Islington. Easy 5 minute walk to the nearest tube/overground station. The stage in the main room is raised, so you get a decent view, and the sound quality is very good for a venue this size.
