The Cyder House Inn is a friendly village pub with a real log fire for the winter and a large beer garden for the summer making us an ideal destination throughout the year. We serve a range of well-kept Badger ales, crisp lagers and refreshing cyders on draught. All our food is freshly made by our fantastic head chef and her team using seasonal, local produce. Shackleford village and the surrounding area is great for cycling plus we are ideally placed on many popular walking routes so you could pop in for a drink or some lunch – muddy boots, dogs, empty water bottles and lycra are not a problem here! Loved every thing about our evening here. We had delicious meals. The service was quick & staff very attentive. It was dog & hiking boot friendly which was great as we'd been out walking all day. And it was warm and inviting with an open log fire.Food: 5/5
Great pub with friendly staff, Excellent food and a lovely atmosphere. We go time and time again because the food is always of a high quality particularly the Sunday roast. There are always lots of good vegetarian and vegan dishes to choose from as well as an extensive range of beers and gins on offer. Vegetarian options: Always a wide range of veggie and vegan options.
Food was absolutely amazing!! Honestly best pub food we've ever had. Couldn't recommend it more. The decor is quite modern/trendy but also cosy. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff!!Food: 5/5
We had a really nice family meal at the Cyder House this weekend. Overall, the food was fantastic - 2 veggie roasts which were lovely, the pork shoulder and roast chicken were enjoyed very much but the one meal we did have a problem with was the roast beef, which was so chewy it couldn't be cut through with a knife and fork. The waitress did check on us during the meal, but due to a mix-up with the vegetarian meals, we had only just begun eating and therefore had no complaints yet. My grandmother was unable to eat the beef but did enjoy the rest of the roast dinner. We did get the beef meal taken off of our bill though which was great! The only other issue was that the tables seemed extremely squashed together which meant the waitress had trouble getting the food to some of our group without leaning across others, and we also found it difficult to get in and out of our places - especially my grandfather and myself who have mobility problems. Apart from those two things, we really did have a great meal in a pub with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Vegetarian options: We chose to come to the Cyder House over other local pubs because of the good veggie options. The vegan options were pretty great! I had the vegan roast which was lovely and the vegan banoffee waffle which was divine Lots of choice for veggies and vegans which is brilliant!
Our first visit and we weren't disappointed. Had a late Sunday lunch and loved the afternoon. The food and drinks were excellent. The service was second to none and ticked every box: professional, smooth, respectful, efficient, personable, warm, friendly, unobtrusive.... The decor and ambiance were tasteful and relaxed. To be highly recommended. We loved it.
Lovely place with great atmosphere off a small road with no traffic, spacious inside and has a awesome outdoor seating area too, family/child friendly with activity children's menu and village playground next to it, accessible from the outside seating area and not overlooked. Then there was the food, great menu choice, had a roast and burger possibly the best I have ever had, followed by some amazing desserts. It isnt cheap but the quality makes it worth the cost. Will definitely be back! Parking: There were a couple of spaces when we arrive but the place was not very busy at that point, if the place was full then there would be nowhere to park Kid-friendliness: Activity children's menu and village playground next to it, accessible from the outside seating area and not overlooked. The tables are spread apart enough so there is some space for the kids to move about without disturbing people
Stopped in here around 3.30ish on a hot, hot September Saturday. I was very happy to see their food service runs from midday to late evening as I thought I might have been out of luck. Wonderful service, a great burger, and a relaxing place to rest after hours of hiking. I felt restored and ready to continue the journey after this meal!
Found this awesome place through Google having searched for somewhere dog-friendly for lunch along the A3 to split up a fairly long drive. Amazing food, fast, friendly service and great value for money. It's a shame that we don't pass by this pub more than once every few years because we'd love to go back frequently!Food: 5/5
Absolutely some of the best pub food I've ever had. The beef burger was so amazing I think it's ruined all other burgers for me now. The atmosphere and location is also nice and the music they were playing was great as well. Definitely recommend for a weekend pub lunch.Food: 5/5
Amazing Sunday roast and just what we needed after a long day of hiking in the area! Had two tourist that wanted a British Sunday roast and we know the food is always good here! The roast was amazing and one had the vegan roast which she loved! You can't beat those yorkshire puddings! Great beers and the waiter gave a great recommendation on a honey Comb cider! We love coming here! Vegetarian options: They have a huge selection and great options for a vegan veggie roast. Even the gravy and Yorkshire pudding is vegan!
